CLUB HISTORY

In 1976 Richmond City Cricket Clubs 2 senior men’s sides were accepted into the Turf Section of the Eastern Suburbs Cricket Association. This following many successful years playing under the umbrella of the Eugene Gorman Opportunity Youth Club (est. Mid 50’s) on mats in the Prahran and Southern Districts Cricket Association.

Since that time the club has grown substantially to now field 9 sides consisting of, 4 Senior men’s, 4 Mixed Juniors (male & female) and a Veterans XI (over 40’s).

Our success since joining the E.S.C.A (now known as the Eastern Cricket Association), has been exceptional, particularly as the Association is about to celebrate its 105th anniversary, while we have only been affiliated with them for little more than 24 years.

Our club has won 15 premierships over this period including:

 9 First XI (83/84, 86/87, 87/88, 88/89, 89/90, 92/93)

2 Second XI

1 Third XI

1 Fourth XI

1 Fifth XI

Under 12 Junior team (87/88)

Two of out most notable achievements in our shorts history include:

However, we are proudest of our achievements in the promotion and fostering of junior cricket within the local Richmond area. Through the tireless work of several long serving members out junior XI sides have grown at a steady rate, ensuring their continued existence and that of our senior XI's.
