The 87 Greenville Stars Girls
recently competed in the 2003 Beast of the East Tournament in
Greenville, N.C. Due to the lack of teams in their usual age
bracket (16 & under), the 87 Stars were forced to play against
teams of 18 and under. Despite this competitive disadvantage, the
87 Stars played hard and were not overwhelmed by the older and more
experienced players on the other teams; Although not winning a game,
the Stars ended their fourth game of the arduous weekend by fighting
the OBX Storm to a scoreless tie in a tight defensive battle.
