For us it's our garden. We enjoy working on, planning our next change and even just sitting quietly watching the flow of life as time slowly alters the garden before our eyes.

My Wife likes to plan the garden in detail, everything is planted where she wants it. She reads the labels and plants in the type of soil, the amount of light, and plans for how it will look when the plants reach their listed heights.

I am less organized in planting, I like to organize more by color and plant much thinner than the package recommends. I think that the plants will naturally multiply, more in the areas that are really suitable for them, and less in areas that are less suitable. After a few years the plants the plants always seem to be growing where they want to be anyway so it really doesn't matter were you plant them (Plants usually don't read the instructions on the package and the wife transplants anything she thinks isn't growing right anyway).

The heart of the garden is really the pond, and that is what I spend most of my time and effort on anyway.
