Groupware:

What is Groupware?

Groupware is a tool for creating collaborative work for a group of colleagues or co workers. Groupware could provide services for communication, collaboration, and coordination. It allows the use to work together on sending emails, electronic meetings, documents, folders, scheduling, and databases.

Purpose of Groupware

With groupware, organizations are enabled to improve work flow because groupware could eliminate communication boundaries through computer meditation.

Details of Groupware

A complete groupware infrastructure has three dimensions: communication, collaboration, and coordination. Groupware has more flexibility than intranets when documents must be changed, updated or edited on the fly. Internal groupware-based networks are more secure than intranets. Groupware is often built on top of some existing core technology such as emails and calendaring.
