My family has a great deal of Irish in it. My Dad's side of the
family came over in the early 1700's and settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania...My
husbands family: They were some of the "Adventurers that helped fund the cost
of the Mayflower...Then Lord William Cole, Earl of Enniskillian, sent his youngest
son, James Cole over to watch their investments. He owned Plymouth Rock, where the
Pilgrims first landed, and had one of the first Inns in Massachusetts. His
name is mentioned in several court records of the day...referring back to his Inn...where
folks would have a little to much to drink...and end up in the caboose. When the
people would go on trial, James Cole name would be mentioned. He is described as
being a pleasant and intelligent man. top
