Welcome to the Paly Art History Resource Page. The purpose of this site is to provide students of Palo Alto High School's art history class with supplemental material to help them prepare for class tests and the AP test.

This site is organized by chapter/subject. The links to the chapters reviewed in class can be accessed at any time through the navigation table on the left. Within each page, images are organized in order of appearance on the slide review sheets. They are presented as seen below.

If the image has not been uploaded yet (most often because it is not in the book), its thumbnail will be replaced by the "No Image" icon that is pictured in the example. If you place the mouse over the image, it will display the slide number and image number in the book (if applicable). If you click on the thumbnail, it will bring up the full-sized version of the image in a new window. These images are sized to fit in a 5-inch x 3-inch area, for easily printing to flashcards.

Next to the thumbnail are the bits of information provided about the image: the artist, title, location and date as well as the description. The description may include the style of the art, the symbolism or history related to it, the materials used, or the artworks size. This information is taken from the slide lists, the book captions, and notes taken in class.
