Hello and welcome to my Website. I hope that you like it. I am a 24 year old computer science and linguistics major at the university at Buffalo. Currently my status is Super Duper senior. I swear I have been at this University too long! I am hoping to graduate by the end of this year. No more slacking off for me!
I have lived in Buffalo, NY for most of my life since my family came to the United States. I was born in Laos but we were refugees for a while in Thailand before the Hamburg, NY Presbytarian church sponsor us to the states. I am thankful to them for bringing us to the States and giving us a chance for a better life. I am the eldest of three girls. We were definitely a lot to handle for my mother. My father left when I was around six or so. I really do not remember much about it. My mother raised the three of us pretty well and I am thankful for such a strong and intelligent mother. Not to mention that she is still beautiful for being 47 years old hehehe..:)
As for what I think about living life, don't ask me. I think that people should look to themselves to find out what makes them the happiest instead of looking for others to guide them. You are the only one who knows what makes you happy. Get to know yourself. :) For the years of my existence, I have learned that life is a lot easier if you have love and friendship. Without them, life is pretty hollow and meaningless. When you are upset, it is always great to know that you have someone to go to. It is ok to dislike some people if you know them but never let your hatred lead your life. It really is just a waste of your energy and time. If someone does not like you, it is not your problem. Dwelling on their dislike of you will only be a waste of your time. They can waste their time all they want hehehe. Be good to others and usually they will be good to you. Unless of course they are dorks hehehee who like to be mean. LOL. Also, it is always great to try something new...like waterskiing or skydiving! :) But, that is only for you adventurous ones. If you are content at not doing any of those things...that is fine too. :) I am getting way too theoretical hehehe.
Here is a poem I love:
Solitude
Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth,
But has trouble enough of it's own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.
Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life's gall.
Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.
