In the United States Navy, alcohol is not allowed aboard ship,
but now that we're all out of the navy, well, grab a draft, and
pull up a chair! Let me show you my pictures!

Here's a view of a live ASROC shot in 1969 near Frederickstead,
St. Croix, USVI.
Practice launch of mk32 torpedo tubes and a mk44 torpedo. Was also
in april of 1969 at St.Croix.
SN Paone (torpedoman striker) and Deatherage after painting
mk32 torpedo tubes racing stripes....after all the late 60s
was the muscle car era! In Newport I think.
The big "W"s motor whale boat...they were taken when we arrived Viet Nam
and the note on the back of pic says men were on their way to pick up
Commodore off U.S.S. REEVES.
U.S.S. REEVES, it was a DLG,   I don't remember the hull number (DLG/CG-24 - ed.)..this was
Warringtons first day on the line off Viet Nam, in 1966.
The previous pics of whaleboat was crew on the way to get Commodore
off the Reeves. He was moving his flag to Warrington.......note
the 50 caliber machine gun mounts in front of torpedo tubes on
Warrington.
Some mementoes of Deatherage's navy "career".
