It was the "Summer of Love" when this twelve year old first got high. I drank a bottle of beer and was buzzed. Soon I was off on my quest for the ultimate high. I looked for and found drugs and drank beer and Ripple wine. I was "experimenting" with the drugs, as they said. I was some kind of scientist! My experiments included grass, hash, hash oil,mesc, acid and speed. At fifteen I was dealing speed for bikers and making money, friends and free speed. I was doing pretty good, it seemed to me!

SIXTY NINE IN THE SEVENTIES

Sex was great then! No AIDS yet, and there was a "sexual revolution" that meant that instead of having to cajole the chicks in high school to give it up, they all wanted to! It was high flying hippie world. No-bra-wearing, flower children, with Indian print, gauzy blouses and hairy armpits! All the chicks were on the pill so hardly anyone got pregnant. If they did, get an abortion. No big deal. It was a glorious time to be in high school. I hardly showed up! But I loved the name,"high school". That's like all we did!

College was a laugh! I majored in filmmaking so I wouldn't have to do homework. I watched a lot of movies and made some crappy ones too! It was a weird crowd, real artsy. The flakier you were the more brialliant they thought you were! It was a waste of time! But I was on my own learning about checking acccounts, bars and landlords. I excelled in the bars part! Fucked up the landlord and checking part though!Later I kept boozing and drugging for like 20 more years. Finally got sober a year and a half ago. Hey, some of us are slow learners, ok? Peace
