GB's Infinity Engine Game Stuff
Baldurs Gate &
Co. (crpg).
Some modified files
for the computer game (and a few for other Infinity Engine games like
Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale). Use stuff noted with a
"WARNING"
at your own risk (esp. if you are using other mods).
- gbscripts.zip
Some custom AI
scripts to use in the game (BG2). Four scripts covering most class
combinations. Source, scripts, and readme files included. Read
the readme file for info. SAFE
- gbthfkp.v2.14.zip
Have a thief?
Just started a new game or are you still putzing about in Jonny's
dungeon or the Promenade? Then do yourself and your thief a favor and
download and install the Expanded Thief Stronghold 'mod' for BG2. It
expands upon the thief stronghold & stronghold
quests
quite a bit and, hopefully, makes it a lot more fun and interesting.
Read the 'readme' file for more details and let me know what you think
and if you have any ideas or bug reports. As with just about any significant mod: CAUTION
- All of the BG2
non-player characters converted into
playable
Icewind Dale player characters. These are complete with biography info,
soundsets and portraits and items (with a few extras). This is a WeiDU
install. This is only for Icewind Dale I (it will not work with IWD2,
though the soundsets and portraits might, but I don't have it so I
can't say for sure -- I have no idea). There is also a 'bonus' Jon
Irenicus soundset and portrait set, without the character file. See the
included readme for more information. Version 3.1: bat/tp2 file
optimization. Thanks Japheth! Added some of Sarevok's cool sounds,
normally heard only in Ascension. Thanks Kish. SAFE
- A companion for the above IWD mod (though it doesn't
require it
at all). This one adds Weimer's Solaufein, Compton and Meyer's Kelsey
and Lyashenko's Tashia. Same deal as the above. Version 1.1: bat/tp2
optimization. Thanks Japheth! Now using the 'hooded Kelsey' portrait,
as Jason informs me that he might be cold in IWD. Thanks Jason. SAFE
- Some soundsets for BG2 player characters. To install,
follow the
instructions in the readmes. SAFE
- skie.zip
Skie, the spoiled, whiny
female thief from BG1 (recognise Nalia?).
- alora.zip
Alora, a spunky female
thief from BG1; she makes Imoen sound depressed.
- eldoth.zip
Eldoth, the arrogant male
bard from BG1. Dunno why, I just like this one.
- saemon.zip
Saemon Havarian,
everyone's favorite swashbuckler, from BG2.
- lvl1npcs.zipThe
first (and maybe
only) in a series of alternate BG2 NPCs (for example: Imoen Assassin,
Wizard Slayer, Sorceress, & co.). Included in this pack:
Anomen,
Cernd, Imoen (1 & 2, note the Imoen213.cre has its proper script assignment), Jaheira, Mazzy, Minsc, Nalia &
Valygar.
Anywhere from 1 to 8 variants of each character. More info in the
readme(s). Update #2: Put Boo back in Quickslot, in alternate Minsc
cres (found in the "Old Boo" directory), due to popular demand
(well...one person asked me). This mod only changes the
creature
definition files: no dialogues, scripts, or anything like that.
Should be perfectly safe to use if you install this before
other
mods; likely safe even installed after other mods (as it is rare that
mods will directly change the standard Bioware NPC *.cre files), still this gets
a: CAUTION
- NPCSounds.zip These
custom player scripts allow you to change both Player & Non-Player
Character's sounds to that of an official Bioware SoA or ToB NPC.
The change is permanent (but can be (re)set again with the
scripts). Should be safe, but still, use with some caution. CAUTION
- gbpstpak-1.zipA
small grab bag
of
stuff for the Planescape:Torment CRPG: a set of PC scripts, also one
fix and one tweak. Because I can't remember exactly what is
all
in this one (haven't played PS:T in a long time), I'll give this one a: CAUTION
- hilvl.zip
Changes the Magic User,
Cleric, Druid and Bard spell-progression in BG2 to more closely match
that found in P&P D&D (using the High Level Campaigns
rules).
Also gives mages and clerics their own Alchemy and Scribe Scrolls
high-level abilities (so that they have something to choose when all of
the '10th' level spells are gone) and modifies, slightly, the Thief
Alchemy and Scribe Scrolls abilities. Readme included. Update #1:
includes additional fixes from Baldurdash (some weapon prof. fixes and
the triple-classed high level ability fix). Update #2: Sorc spell
progression modified. WARNING
- boh.zip
The Original Unlimited Capacity Bag of Holding
cheat. My most "famous" mod, heh. And it's: SAFE
- cerndfix.zip
This file fixes a
problem with Cernd's quest not starting if you were a high level when
Cernd joined the party (i.e. if he doesn't initiate dialogue with the
PC when you enter the Promenade). This should be installed before any other mods. CAUTION
- player1d.zipThis file
reduces the
dream sequences to very, very short cutscenes...just enough to remind
you of what you're missing. :-) Should be relatively safe, but if
you are using other mods that tinker with the dream sequences, then
beware. CAUTION
- hostile.zip
Custom player script.
Assign it to a character, turn on the AI and enemies will become
neutral ('red' circled characters become 'blue' circled). Kind of
pointless, but good if you made a mistake and ticked off a vital NPC.
Because this may cause problems if used carelessly: CAUTION
- gorf.zip
A
replacement script for 'Gorf
the Squisher'. This fixes a common bug with the Gorf/Mazzy sub-plot.
Extract the bcs file and place it into the BG2
override. Use before installing any mods; and because
it uses an old-school patching technique: CAUTION
- simple.zip
A
BG2 version of the
"simple" script, originally created by Dream. SAFE
- iwd1smpl.zip
An Icewind Dale version
of the "simple" script, originally created by Dream. SAFE
- edwinsex.zip
This is a small patch
designed to fix a bug in Edwin's Nether Scroll quest. Extract the files
into the /override/ directory before Edwin has his
final
'revelation' in his study of the Nether Scroll. This might
incompatible with some mods installed before this patch, so install
this patch before any (WeiDU) mods (this will be incompatible with any
mod, before or after, which completely over-writes the EdwinJ or Degard
.dlg files). CAUTION
