CDDB is the largest CD database on the internet and provides other great services. Be sure to pick up your cd player shareware or freeware download while you are there! My recommedation is to try out the Music Match Jukebox and/or the Real Music Jukebox, both of which are available here as freeware.
Audible.com has great audio files, music, book excerps and humor. This is a most interesting site. Visit it for thine ear's sake!

E-newsletters is a great way to learn new things, get your name on a number of different mailing lists and get useful information in your e-mail which you can then read at your leasure. This site contains a good list of such publications covering a wide range of interests.

NetSnapShot is another photo bargain. Here they scan your negatives and place them in an online photo album. If you need prints you can print them out yourself with your color printer.

Cyberrebate.com. Get free toys, electronics, computer stuff and who knows what else on this site. The idea is that some companies are offering rebates on their merchandise that is equal to the purchase price! All you wind up paying is shipping. There is a shipping charge of up to $10.00 but the item itself is free. I have ordered from this site and gotten a check but nonetheless you should realize that you may not be as lucky. And you usually have to wait up to 4 months to get the rebate when it does come through. So do be careful about what you order, if you order something that you really want and the price before the rebate is a fair one, then you have gotten a real value.

To be quite frank--Webmaster Frank, that is--IE5 and Netscape both have room for improvement as far as their appearances are concerned. This site does just that! And you can add some useful services to your browser while you're at it. Such as the AltaVista translating service.
Storage
Now you can store your files, photos, artwork, etc., on the internet. This can save a considerable amount of money since you no longer need to puchase extra disks and disk drives. There are several sites that provide this service and we have listed some of them here. You may wish to sign up for several of these services since most of them provide only about 25MB although some of them provide more. For example Xdrive provides up to 100MB of disk space and this is the one I am currently using. Also Xdrive puts a convenient icon on your desktop that you can drag your files into as if it were part of your computer's own hard disk.

CONSUMER'S CORNERBeware McAfee software. I recently purchased McAfee's Utility Suite and it messed up my computer to such an extent that I was forced to call McAfee's help line several times and they were less than helpful! I was finally forced to reformat my hard disk and restart windows. As a result I lost important data! Previous to that I had a problem with their antivirus software. McAfee definately needs to improve their software and their customer support! Until they do, I do not intend to purchase any more software from McAfee and will continue to warn off anyone thinking of doing so. If I'm lying let them sue me!
