Family:
Married, wife Sarah, six children, nine grandchildren.
Background:
Born Polson, Mt. Aug. 10, 1943. Lived mainly on ranches, which has helped me acquire a work ethic to approach all tasks vigorously. I like to fish, hunt and participate in sports for hobbies.
Philosophy:
To assist all that I come in contact with to be able to do their assigned tasks in an easier, more productive, pleasurable manner.

  • 1966-1969 Carroll College, Helena, Mt. BA Elementary Education. 
  • 1984-1988 Montana State University, Bozeman, Mt. MA. Master of Education Elementary Curriculum K-8 with an endorsement Elementary Education Principal K-8

Teaching 

  • December 1969-May 1978 5th grade, self-contained classroom 
  • Sept. 1978-Jan. 1991, Junior and Senior High Chapter One Language Arts and Math, and 7 and 8 Math and Social Studies.

  • 1978-1991, District Athletic Director/Activities Director, ass't coach football, basketball, track, and volleyball. Conducted state-wide Title IX workshop.

Administrative Ass't 1989-91 Whitehall High School Assigned Duties: District attendance program, assist with Chapter One Program, Chairman Professional Development Committee, Participate in District teacher interview and selection process, conduct assigned teacher and coach evaluations, assist in the development of district curriculum, chairman of committee that developed K-6 Inclusion model for district, implemented Second Step curriculum that assists the school in teaching the students how to solve problems positively, chairman committee that developed District-Wide Technology Improvement Plan, which included acquiring free Internet access for the school, and the wiring of such access to all rooms in the school by the completion of the school year in 1998, Chairman of Gifted and Talented Committee that developed and identification process and a plan for implementation of that program for the K-6 student population, 1991-1999 Elementary School Principal, student population 340.
