The Hollywood Choir is a Bible-based Christian ministry dedicated to spreading the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through song. Absolutely anyone who wants to lift up the name of our Lord and Savior with us is welcome to join our ministry. We sing mostly contemporary Gospel music as well as some traditional Gospel, and we minister wherever God calls upon us to witness for Him.
GOSPEL MUSIC Out of the African-American experience comes
a sound that will captivate any audience. Its music is rich with emotion and harmony, its
performance alive and energetic, and its message is full of hope. This musical art form is
known as Black Gospel Music.
There are many components that make up the sound of Gospel such as hand-clapping, piano,
organ, bass, guitar and drum. These traditional instruments give gospel a distinct flavor
that set it apart from other styles of music. Three part harmony and improvisational
singing are the vocal back-bone of Gospel music. Together the voice and the music inspire
one another to new levels of interpretation, thus producing a different performance each
time.
The message of Gospel music continues to incorporate new and exciting musical styles, but
never changes its meaning. Simply put, Gospel music means "Good news" music. The
good news being the historical and spiritual message of Christianity.
