Preface

This manual serves as a guide to internal auditors in carrying out management auditing on the effectiveness, efficiency and economy of operations and programs of an organization. An eclectic approach is adopted by recompiling and editing from various sources mainly guidelines and seminars organized by Institute of Internal Auditors and the Malaysian Treasury.  The Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing published by the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.(http://www.theiia.org). and Statements on Internal Auditing Standards issued by the Internal Auditing Standards Board of The Institute of Internal Auditors, and other Standards Pronouncements on a world-wide basis shall serve as guidelines for internal audit activities.
