Boom Boom Boom
Everyone is cheering.
The crowd is waiting.
Out come the children of the Miyabi Arashi Taiko School.
The group starts to play quietly.
It sounds like a herd of horses galloping together getting closer and closer.
Suddenly you are in the herd listening to all the hooves hitting the ground.
There is a sudden silence.
The leaders begin their solo.
The audience is surprised.
Suddenly our sticks are up and we are finished.
The crowd goes crazy.
Welcome to the sound of Taiko.

A Taiko is a traditional Japanese drum. It is played with sticks called bachi. The frame is made of wood and the skin is cow skin. The skin is attached to the wood with pegs or bolts made of metal or by rope.
