    The history of martial arts is a long and colorful one.  The arts have just recently taken on widespread popularity in the US.   However in no way did they originate in the US.  In fact martial arts existed centuries before the US was founded.  The continent of Asia is the homeland of basically every major form of martial arts originated their.  Asia is a vast and diverse continent within itself.  many different Asian countries gave birth to various diverse styles.
