About me...
My name is Shelane Michelle. I grew up in the growing town of Modesto, California. I graduated from Beyer High, home of the Patriots, in 1993. I then moved on to boot camp. This was real boot camp, though I entered into the California Army National Guard instead of active duty army. When I returned from my training, I started college at Modesto Junior College, which is more lovingly referred to as the University of Modesto. I joined the speech team, and wrote the first speech of my life. My second year of competition I became "Top Speaker" at the Northern California Forensics Association's Fall Championship. At the end of that year I was voted best Parliamentary debater. When I graduated from MJC on May 22, 98, I was the graduation speaker. It was certainly a special moment for me.
Last year I went to the University of the Yucatan in Mexico (La Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, Mérida México) on a Rotary Scholarship. The three years of Spanish I had didn't seem like enough when I got there, but now I speak well enough to hold my own.
In my free time, I work on my web site (using my Apple Macintosh iBook), go to movies, listen to music, play acoustic guitar, and hang out with my friends.
Drop me an email, and say hi.
