HOW MISSIONARIES PREY ON INNOCENT SOULS IN ISRAEL
Thousands of missionaries operate in Israel today. They cast their insidious nets throughout the country. On any day and at any time they spy on unfortunate Jewish souls. They go out in pairs looking for prospective victims, talking to them in the streets, coming into their homes, hoping to convert them to their brand of Christianity.
The missionaries are extremely dedicated and do not give up, even when a family slams the door in their faces: they can return, or even drop by a neighbor's house. They move methodically from neighborhood to neighborhood, contacting tens of thousands of Jewish homes in Israel. Material is distributed in home mailboxes, army camps, shopping malls, and university campuses, among other places. Their workers speak various languages, sending the appropriate missionaries to areas and neighborhoods where a particular immigrant group resides. For example, Russian speakers are sent to communities in South Tel-Aviv, Lod, and Ramla, where this language is widely spoken. In Ra'ananna where Western immigrants reside, the missionaries send English-speaking operatives. In Netanya, French is a language of choice.
Throughout the country, missionaries operate in parallel among old-time Israelis and new immigrants alike. They organize weekend seminars of religious indoctrination, within the context of a vacation and social event. The participants are requested to pay only a nominal participation fee.
The highlight of these missionary activities are public baptismal ceremonies carried out in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa, and other places.
They have unlimited financial resources to support their work, with operations in Israel being funded by Christians throughout the world. This money allows them to hire workers, purchase and rent means of transport, and publish missionary propaganda in unbelievable quantites, which is distributed to thousands of families throughtout Israel
MISSIONARIES IN ISRAEL - A GROWING CONCERN
The missionary movement in Israel was not long ago regarded as a marginal element active only in the fringes of Israeli society. However, it has quickly become more established and professional, backed by large budgets that are enabling it, through its enhanced financial and organizational strength, to systematically ensnare thousands of naive citizens. The proliferation of missionaries in their various organizations and branches is enabling them to propagandize in a more intelligible, sophisticated and daring way, and thus to win innocent Jews over to a belief in Jesus and the New Testament. All this makes our struggle against them all the more difficult: from keeping tabs on the alarming expansion of the phenomenon, to locating the sophisticated missionaries themselves, who deceitfully disguise their work.

Preventing their activities, uncovering their true intentions and making the public aware of them, are all part of a complicated program that is demanding a hitherto unforeseen amount of extraordinary capabilities and financial backing.
Here are a few figures:
In the United States alone there are more than
600 MISSIONARY ORGANIZATIONS
with a combined budget of more than
150 MILLION DOLLARS.
The above does not even include their properties, other assets and income, some of which is not publicly known.
The entire budget is meant for one purpose; to convert as many Jews as possible to Christianity. A large part of this money is directed toward activities in Israel where there are
APPROXIMATELY 40 MESSIANIC CONGREGATIONS
These are spread out between Tiberias and Eilat and number among several thousand members.
THEIR GOAL:TO ESTABLISH A MISSIONARY BRANCH IN EVERY POPULATION CENTER IN ISRAEL!
Jehovah's Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses is one of the most dangerous missionary groups. In Israel it numbers several thousand members, all of whom oppose military service. The way they operate is by sending a sweet-looking missionary pair to knock on doors and engage whoever answers in conversation.
Their motives slowly unfold and the results are destructive and brainwashing. They cause family tragedies, such as separations between spouses and the alienation of children from parents. We know of many families who are suffering from the loss of members to this cult. Many children have died as a result of this group's teachings which prohibit blood transfusions even when life is in danger.
The material they hand out is carefully geared toward the potential convert's level of interest and enthusiasm. Almost all of it is printed by Jehovah's Witnessest publishing house, "The Watchtower." It is distributed just in the right dosage, so as to avoid resistance.
J's Witnesses have recently begun missionizing among Bukharian immigrants. Many of the latter become ensnared because they are unaware of what is happening to them.
Missionaries and Russian Jews
Hillel Radin is studying astrophysics at the University of St. Petersburg (Leningrad). He was raised in an atheistic home devoid of any Jewish influence, and was only vaguely aware of his Jewish origins. He only began to investigate his background when Glasnost spread throughout the land and Pamyat reminded him of his Jewishness.
A small notice on campus captured his eye: "Want to learn about Judaism? Come to 'Circle Seven"'! So, curious Hillel went. He has since been baptized, believes in Jesus and is active in converting Jews in that wonderful Russian city.
"Have you heard about the five laws of Judaism?" So read the title of the publication -- distributed in half a million copies -- which spoke to the heart of Hillel and thousands of other Jewish youth throughout Russia and the C.l.S. It was most of these young people who brought about the rehabilitation of religion in the Soviet Union in their quest for Judaidm. Now, due to their ignorance, they are being taken advantage of by missionaries.
Missionary activity in Russia is focused particularly on universities. Except for a few activists, no local body has been able to counter it. And even they are having a hard time fighting against organizations whose great financial and other resources flow mainly from the US. They target those aged 17 to 34, because people in Russia still marry at a later age, and the missionaries know that it is easier to recruit singles than families.
CONVERTING RUSSIAN IMMIGRANTS
Missionary propaganda of organizations like "Seven" persuades its believers to immigrate to Israel and continue their activities and brainwashing there. Indeed, since the great waves of immigration of the 90's, branches of Jews for Jesus have sprung up in dozens of Israeli towns. Their main activists are non-Jewish Russian immigrants who spread their propaganda brazenly.
A bulletin put out by the president of MJMI (the Messianic Jewish Movement, International, a missionary organization), Manny Brotman, and his wife, tells of the organization's massive work in Russia and the Ukraine, where there is a permanent staff headed by Jonathan Bernis. They have held "spiritual enrichment" rallies in dozens of places throughout the C.l.S., distributed books and cards on "Instruction in the Five Jewish Laws" also in the Baltic states. They have also displayed prominent activists in such places as St. Petersburg, in Kiev (where they had the audacity to invite 100 elderly Holocaust survivors as "honored guests" at a rally); at Minsk (with the blessing of Byelorussia's president. They claim that the event was so successful that the local Metro station had to be closed!); in Moscow; Odessa; and Kharkov. Participants at each of these events were made to believe that they were seeing "true Judaism" in action. Young people who were "spiritually saved" through the wiles of the missionaries were put on show, e.g., Dimitry and Alia, both 28. In Moscow they say that they have visited Israel and consider her 700,000 immigrants to be just as good targets for conversion as the Jews who have remained in Russia. (A shocking example is the case of the Jew from the Caucasus who came to Israel, settled in Ohr Akiva and opened a mission there.)
The MJMI has also come out in a clever campaign against the fascist leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, claiming that his fight against Judaism is directed against them ("Will he ban our rallies?"). They get financial support from backers in the US to fight him and Pamyat's aims "to limit 'messianic Judaism's' scope of activities" in Russia.
MJMI has invited the participation of Russian Jewry's intelligentsia in its worldwide campaigns, such as "Jerusalem 2000" and the "Friend, I Am Born Again" association, all meant to further missionary activity. This is true also of its Internet site, international Fax service, video- and audio-cassettes which are distributed in the hundreds of thousands, catalogs of indoctrinating books and pamphlets, and colorful reports of gatherings that have taken place throughout the former Soviet Union.
FINLAND--AN ARROWHEAD
Various organizations in London and Finland have been supporting Baruch Maoz, especially since many young Russian youngsters (whose lessons are in Russian) have been added to the rolls. Missionaries find it much easier to attract Russians, and members of other similar immigrant groups, whose Jewish religious background is almost non-existent. Thus, Ethiopian immigrants are targeted as well. The Finnish organization "PATMOS" which subsidizes these classes is represented in Israel by Ola Victor.
HOW YAD L'ACHIM IS FIGHTING THIS SCOURGE
Yad L'achim has found ways of hurtling one of the two difficult barriers that the missionary workers have built around their operations, the solidarity and steadfastness with which they carry out their work.
To meet this challenge, Yad L'achim has its own dedicated and experienced activists working in its Anti-missionary Department. Day and night our members follow the tracks of missionaries, enabling us to neutralize their influences, warn people about their insidious propaganda, and prevent them from enticing additional families.
When a family or an individual has started to be entangled in the missionary web, our activists labor to identify them and begin working before the foreign influence becomes even greater and more difficult to neutralize.
When the missionaries have already brought an individual to the brink of baptism, work is much more difficult, complicated and drawn out. Our co-workers, though, have even seen success with resolving even such difficult cases and can spend hours upon hours to identify and cure the under lying problem, saving whole families from spiritual death.
In addition to field work, Yad L'achim gathers every bit of information about the plans, operations, and operatives of the various missionary sects. Information from around the world flows into our anti-missionary center, enabling us to be aware of dangers months in advance and to place our activists where they are required at the proper time.
There is also a variety of other sophisticated methods, best left to the imagination, that we use to neutralize the operation of missionary groups.
Of particular significance are the educational fruits of the informational activities of Yad L'achim. We publicize the dangers of missionary operations in circulars, bills, and pamphlets, as well as in the electronic media. Educational seminars, lectures, and public protest demonstrations are all part of our anti-missionary awareness campaign.
Our knowledgeable activists have infiltrated missionary seminars and have confused and embarrassed both lecturers and participants with their penetrating questions. Their pointing out of contradictions and absurdness of the missionary positions, have led many Jews to abandon missionary advances.
However, there is a second difficult barrier put up by the missionary organizations, the massive human and virtually unlimited financial resources available to them. But that one is difficult for us to scale, as the resources available to us are far short of what is required. If the missionary organizations send out 1000 pairs of workers every day, we must be able to meet this challenge with a similar number of our own workers.
If the missionary organizations have tens of motor vehicles at their convenience, we must have similar transport power to move our co-workers and volunteers.
If the missionaries distribute hundreds of thousands of books, pamphlets, and circulars to enter the public arena, we must be able to reach similar numbers of homes with our own informational campaigns.
If missionaries run weekend seminars, we have to organize parallel seminars to counter their well-oiled propaganda machine.
In addition to all this, we must obtain legal aid with regard to the various activities we undertake.
In order to meet these challenges, we must enlist the aid of all Jews who are revolted and embittered by the increasing activities of missionary soul trapping in Israel.
