No One In Particular

This computer network security site sucks less.

Less than *what* you ask? Good question.

It sucks less than other sites that are run by people who know less, plain and simple.

Am I a guru? No.
Am I a l33t h@x0r? Heheh. No.

Well, what makes *me* think I can make a site that contains both pertinent *and* interesting information relevant to computer and network security issues?

I've done it before. I cannot say where or when. All I *can* say is it was well received by everyone who was not becoming threatened by its popularity. It was well liked by people who worked for a living, and it was causing the "masses" to become both more educated about their job *and* more interested in doing their job correctly, which is exactly the reasons the "management" was feeling threatened.

I was not-necessarily-politely asked to change my format and writing style so it would become yet another run-of-the-mill document full of political correctness with just enough information to be barely passable for a true "document", yet contain actually a *negative* amount of entertainment value, resulting in a loss of interest in doing *anything* following reading one of these updates (which ARE daily, by the way).

In other words, I enjoyed compiling it, people enjoyed reading it, and the folks "in charge" didn't like it. So, I took my toys and am now playing elsewhere. AND to add insult to injury, I am still compiling my document and posting it *here* on the WEB for all to see and learn from.

OKAY, so what *is* going to be here?

Daily (or as near as the time in my universe allows me) updates on relevant computer and network security issues.
Expect:
~ Vulnerability and exploit information
~ Computer security news and information
~ Information about hacker tools and techniques (common ones)
~ Random insertion of editorials, comments, and likely some irreverant sarcasm as well

I started building this site on 13 Nov 01, so relax if it is not "perfect" soon thereafter. As I said, there will be (near) daily updates, and the site will evolve over time, as the security realm has done for the years I have worked in it. Simply go with the flow, and let me know what works for you and what doesn't.

Did I say "you"? Yes, YOU. Uh huh... YOU. I want feedback on this site please. Let me know what would make this a better resource for you. What did I do right that made it good? What did I have right that I changed and screwed up? What do I simply miss the mark on? If YOU don't tell me, I will never know.

My e-mail address is:

[email protected]

Use it to tell me what's up! Feedback!

Okay, head inside and see what's new!

Yes, at some point, I will be moving the home page out here so you won't have to click a link to even enter. I am still setting this thing up, so give me a couple days (a month).
