"How Much Do I Love You?"
How wide is the sky?
Why, as far as the eye can see in any direction;
And where eyesight fades into the horizon
She still reaches around the earth appearing again - without an
end;
But, the sky is not as wide as my love for you.
How long are the rivers?
Why, starting as drops of rain or melted snow they run their
course,
Traversing mountains, hills and plains, they find their way out to
the sea;
And keep in mind thats not their end, they form the clouds and
start again;
But the rivers are not as long as my love for you.
How high are the mountains?
Why, so majestic and alluring, they tower above all creation,
And not wind, nor rain, nor snow, nor even man can bring them
down.
With stately pride they touch the stars and house the gods;
But the mountains are not as high as my love for you.
How deep is the Ocean?
Why, she covers 2/3 of the world and miles deep the experts say;
And in her depths lie mysteries of hidden and forgotten treasures.
Though men have sought, theyve still not found her heart thats
buried
phathoms down;
But the ocean is not as deep as my love for you.
How warm is the sun?
Why, magnificent is her heat as hurled towards all the worlds;
And but a spark thrown from her hand could warm the earth and
all of man.
Without her warmth then cold would reign, and all of life would
die.
But the sun is not as warm as my love for you.
How much do I love you?
Why, it seems as quite impossible to pen with words or with
tongue tell;
For in this life, Ive tried to find something to my love compare;
And My Love - it just isnt there.
I love you completely with all my soul.
