Billie Sue's "Pets" & Other Things

My aviary is located against the back of the house. The windows above the kitchen sink are inside the area enclosed by the aviary. This allows for easy viewing through the glass into the bird's area. The entrance door here is large enough for my wheelchair to enter. Once inside there is a second door before entering the bird area. This double door arrangement helps to prevent the accidental release of a bird. Visit my aviary page for more data and photos.
This view of the back of the house shows the 10' x 12' aviary to the left side. On the right half of the photo is a view of the ivy decorated lattice arch over a multi-tiered fountain sitting in our 8' x 8' goldfish pond. You can go to my Goldfish page to get a closer look at my pond and how normal small goldfish can grow up to 15" in length. |

Normally you would think of Queen's Ivy as having leaves that are 3 to 4 inches across. This plant was allowed to grow directly in the yard instead of in a pot. These leaves measure 12" x 14". I love plants and my plant page will show you some of the many varieties that I have around my house and yard. |

| My husband's hand over one of the leaves to show you their relative size. My plant page will have more data about this plant and show you how I "winter" my outdoor plants. | ![]() |

Two of the white ringneck doves in the aviary. My bird page has pictures of other species of birds that I keep. My canaries are my favorites, but doves are in second place. Our Gouldians may have more color, but I enjoy watching the doves and listening to the canaries.

Visit my links page to find pages related to my birds and my hobbies. The good part is that some of the links will take you to pages that will provide you with the data needed to keep and care for many of these and other birds. |
