DID YOU KNOW ?
The first real cats appeared 12 Million years ago, and 6 million years later (6 million years ago)
the world was full of cats of all kinds such as Lions, giant Tigers (in China),Jaguars (in north America),
and smaller cats in Europe.
Cats were all over the place...except for Australia, the Poles and a few islands.
In ancient Egypt cats were guarding the granaries (barns) and for that they became
so valuable and dear to Egyptians that they became holly and were treated with much respect.
Some of those cats were mummified and buried with their owners.
The first cat shows took place in the middle of the 19th. century, the year was 1871 the place,London, England, it was for British Shorthair and Persians (Longhair).
In New England,America, was the first American cat show and the breed that was presented there was Maine Coon, a breed that was developed in America.
It has long hair and it's very affectionate.
