Sung by: Kathy Rider

I'm a time traveler, I travel back in time.
Never to the future for I'm afraid of what I'll find
I travel back in time, to a time long ago.
I travel back to see a boy I use to know.

He's a lonely boy, a lost orphan boy.
He walks all alone, no one to call his own.
No one to care, no one's love to share.
He walks all alone, no one to call his own.

30 seconds of instrumental music..........

I'm a time traveler, I travel back in time.
Never to the future for I'm afraid of what I'll find
I travel back in time, to a time long ago.
I travel back to see a boy I use to know.

I've seen so many tears, all through the years.
There was no one to hold him, nor to wipe away the tears
It hurt so much to see the boy cry.
It hurt so much, I wanted to die.

I'm a time traveler, I travel back in time.
Never to the future for I'm afraid of what I'll find
I travel back in time, to a time long ago.
I travel back to see a boy I use to know.

RUN, ORPHAN BOY, RUN.©

Recorded by: HillTop Records, under a country label.
Album name: America. #AM-236 --- Released: October '97.
Sung by: Rusty Stratton
Written by: Larry Eugene Peterson.

I was running hard, to make the railroad yard.
When I heard a shout and turned about.
There stood that man, with five boys at hand.
Oh, I turned and ran, from those boys and that man.

Oh Run, Orphan Boy, Run.   Run, Orphan Boy, Run
Run for your life.  Oh, Run for your life.
Run, Orphan Boy, Run.  Run, Orphan Boy, Run.
Run for your life, for your life.

Yes, I was running hard, to make that railroad yard.
When I saw those boys coming after me.
I turned around, to hold my ground
When those boys knocked me to the ground.

Oh Run, Orphan Boy, Run.   Run, Orphan Boy, Run
Run for your life.  Oh, Run for your life.
Run, Orphan Boy, Run.  Run, Orphan Boy, Run.
Run for your life, for your life.

When I came around, I found my hands were bound.
They took me to the place I'd ran away.
Told me to stay, I couldn't get away.
If I ran away they would kill me someday.

Oh Run, Orphan Boy, Run.   Run, Orphan Boy, Run
Run for your life.  Oh, Run for your life.
Run, Orphan Boy, Run.  Run, Orphan Boy, Run.
Run for your life, for your life.

Yes, they told me I had to stay for I couldn't get away.
If I should run away they would kill me someday.
That was on my mind, the next time I ran away.
And was on my mind, the next time I ran away.

Oh Run, Orphan Boy, Run.  Run, Orphan Boy, Run.
Run for your life.   Run for your life.

ORPHAN BOY'S LAMENT.©

They called me an "Orphan." "A lowly Orphan Boy."
There was no joy, in being an orphan boy.
For I was all alone, no one to call my own.
And it hurt so much to be all alone.

With all love gone, I could not go on.
I had to roam, from the orphan's home.
I could not stay, I had to run away.
I could not stay, I had to run away.

When I ran away, they brought me back that day.
They put me in a room, a cold dark room.
They took all of my clothes, then they locked the door.
There I had to sleep, on a cold hard floor.

I laid there all alone, no one to call my own.
Where I had to stay, until that fateful day.
When in walked a man, with a board in hand.
I would have to pay for I had ran away.

I was but twelve years. My heart was filled with fear.
With eyes filled with tears and my heart filled with fear,
I pleaded with him, "I'll never run again."
"I can't take the pain." But I cried out in vain.

On that fateful day, I heard that man say,
"I'll break you of runnin', you'll never run again."
Yes I cried out in pain, but I cried out in vain.
Oh God, what a sin, for he hit me time and again.

"Oh please Sir, don't hurt me anymore."
I cried out in pain, as I fell to the floor.
Yes I cried out in pain, but I cried out in vain.
Oh God, what a sin, for he hit me once again.

On that fateful day, I again ran away.
He tried to break me, but I was born to be free.
So on that very day, I again ran away.
On that fateful day, I again ran away.

Yes they called me an "Orphan." "A lowly Orphan Boy."
No, there is no joy, in being an orphan boy.
For I was all alone, no one to call my own.
And it hurt, so much, to be all alone.

He Is Such A Young Boy, Can He Be Dead?©

Leave me be. Please leave me be.
For can't you see this is now between God and me.

They told me to stay, for I couldn't get away.
If I should run away, they would kill me someday.
But on that hot summer day I had again ran away
And they had brought me down by the highway.

Leave me be. Please leave me be.
For can't you see this is now between God and me.

As I laid by the highway, I wondered if I was dead,
When I heard a voice as though far away.
"He is such a young boy, can he be dead?"
"He is such a young boy, can he be dead?"

Leave me be. Please leave me be.
For can't you see this is now between God and me.
