001 [1.01-95] Pilot / Einsatz in Hoboken

    One year after his divorce Det. Tony Canetti is (more or less) forced
    into a blind date with Melanie Clifford, a liberal newspaper reporter.
    The date itself then has its ups, downs and sparkling moments but it
    finally ends quite abruptly. The following day Tony learns that Melanie
    has been assigned to the police beat.

002 [1.02-95] A Kiss Is Just A Kiss / Alles Tarnung

    Melanie tries to get a story but a snooping reporter is nothing the
    cops want to have around. Then, following a tip about drug dealing,
    Tony goes out to shadow a drug boss - with Melanie. When this man
    turns around Tony uses a kiss as cover ('Standard Diversionary
    Tactic'). Officer Silvero is assigned to the Hoboken PD and Mickey
    gets his own room at Tony's.

003 [1.03-95] Here's Just Looking At You, Kid / Ohne Hitze kein Feuer

    Off. Regelski broke up with his girlfriend - because she wanted to have
    sex! No one can believe this, only Melanie encourages his sensitive
    behavior. Now Regelski, after her words of comfort and knowing that
    she understands him, thinks that she's the right one and wants to date
    her. But after some nights out Melanie has to admit that there 'needs
    to be heat to make fire'. Tony speaks in front of Mickey's class about
    his job at career day.

004 [1.04-95] Crime, per se / Kleine Fische und grosse Kaefer

    Kirby gets really mad at Regeski's hyper-sensitiveness and tries to
    move her desk away from his - every day an inch. Tony arrests Billy
    again, a notorious purse-snatcher. But then Melanie shows up, hears
    Tony running him down, and writes a report about Billy 'who had a bad
    childhood and never got a chance'. This report doesn't fail and Billy
    is released again - only to choose Melanie as his next victim. A buggy
    situation ...

005 [1.05-95] The Man's Man / Tonys neuer Freund

    Leo Collins, Melanie's former boyfriend, is in town. Tony uses this
    to get some information about her and therefore spends some time with
    him. After Leo confesses to Melanie why he broke up with her, these
    meetings with Tony get a completely different meaning. Regelski is
    assigned to bicycle patrol, leaving back just one problem - he can't
    ride a bike.

006 [1.06-95] The Hit Parade / Lang lebe die Queen

    When the 'King of Practical Jokes' Tony scores another one, this time
    again on Regelski, Melanie wants to proof that she plays in the same
    league. She prepares a great joke for Al, placing the lotto numbers
    he always plays in the morning paper. And when Al sees the numbers his
    mood changes quickly and with one million standing behind it's easy to
    tell the Chief his opinion. It ends with a fired Al ... Kirby, out
    on the street working on a prostitution-case finds her boyfriend's
    name in the 'little black book' of a madam.

007 [1.07-95] Guess Who's Coming For Dinner / Dinner fuer vier

    Lucy invites Tony and a companion for dinner to meet her new fiancee
    Robert, a brain surgeon. At the office Tony is advised not to go alone
    and as Melanie offers to come along, he goes with her.

008 [1.08-95] Contempt / Die Freiheit der Presse

    Because of a missing witness the criminal Joey Nichols may go free in
    the upcoming trial. Melanie, reporting the case, has found a witness
    but he requested anonymity. Standing up to her promise, Melanie protects
    her source even when it means going into jail. And Tony doesn't miss
    a chance to get her revealing the name. Al again thinks about retirement
    but that would be connected with the terrible thought spending more time
    with his wife.

009 [1.09-95] Road Warriors / Ein vermasselter Thanksgiving

    Jay asks Melanie out to his mountain cabin during the Thanskgiving
    holidays. Since her car has broken down the others urge Tony he should
    give her a ride up to the Poconos. On their way there they get lost
    and finally Tony's car breaks down, too. Stranded, they call in for
    help but no one from the PD answers them - They can't, so instead they
    have their own party going on with Melanie and Tony's smalltalk as the
    highlight! At the station, Regelski has broken Al's favorite mug.

010 [1.10-95] Bells and Whistles / Ein Fall fuer den Psychiater

    Allison, Melanie's college roommate who seperated from her boyfriend
    not long ago, is in town. Tony and Allison find each other mutually
    attracted the minute they first met and also go out on successful
    dates. Kirby arrests 'El Gato', a criminal Al has been after for
    over 30 years, easily - too easy for Al to handle.

011 [1.11-95] Mickey, The Hood / Ganz der Vater

    Mickey recently causes lots of troubles in school as well as outside
    and even at the station. Tony and Lucy suspect it's his new best friend,
    Joey. Tony even talks with Dana, Joey's mom who of course doesn't like
    that idea, but actually it is all Mickey's. And finally Tony begins to
    'understand the horror on his father's face'. At the station the annual
    celebration of Frank Sinatra's birthday takes place. 'Happy Sinatra's
    Birthday!'

                                                                      Ball der einsamen Herzen

    The 'Mayor's Christmas Ball' is coming up and Tony worries because
    this is the day he's usually with his son. But Mickey has 'not-a-date'
    anyway. Also his mother is out on a date, and Melanie goes with Jay
    to the ball. Somehow everyone has someone, only Tony has nobody ...

013 [1.13-96] In The Line Of Duty / Die Katze im Sack

    After Tony gets shot, the psychiatrist doesn't clear him and Tony is
    suspended. All, except Tony himself who takes it as ordinary police
    life, are shocked about the fact that Tony has been shot. A talk with
    his late father, who was killed in the line of duty when Tony was just
    eleven, makes Tony realize that this could also happen to him. A
    breakout-attempt from the interrogation room through the station's
    air vent ends with a stuck criminal and Regelski who went after him.

014 [1.14-96] I Loved Lucy / Der Dritte im Bund

    One week before her and Bob's wedding, Lucy comes by at Tony's to
    store some things from Tony and her past there. Going through all
    that stuff brings up memories for both of them and they finally
    land in bed - together. This night with Tony makes Lucy rethink
    her upcoming marriage.

015 [1.15-96] Dear Cyberspace / Melanies Tagebuch

    When Melanie returns some borrowed money to Tony, Tony finds out
    that it's counterfeit money Melanie got from the market across her
    apartment. The police goes on a stakeout and Melanie puts her place
    at their disposal. During the (boring) stakeout Regelski finds
    Melanie's diary. Reading it, Tony finds out that Kirby had a better
    score on the seargent's exam than he had. For a history pageant at
    school Mickey goes as Thomas Jefferson. Tony is in charge of the
    costume, since the pageant is during his week with Mickey.

016 [1.16-96] To Bob Or Not To Bob / Bob oder nicht Bob

    72 hours to go (after calling it off three times) until Lucy marries
    Bob. An exciting Tony can't await it! But then, at the wedding, Lucy
    experiences jitters and gets doubts (because Bob wants to change
    her into someone else) - and calls off the wedding again. And the
    doubts continues - this times whether she did the right thing or
    not. A desperate Tony tries to fix this and get them both together
    again. And then, at the wedding, it's Tony (who knows of Bob's plans
    to change her) who objects. At the station, a psychic should help to
    solve a case.

017 [1.17-96] Sunday In The Station With Mickey / Sonntagsdienst

    Tony, with Secret Service Agent Hansen, is in charge to set up security
    for the Vice President's visit to Hoboken - or Newark. After Howard
    proposed to Kirby she sees no other way than to quit this relationship.
    A devastated Howard, after trying to win her back, eventually locks
    himself in the security command center and won't come out until Kirby
    accepts his proposal ...

    Chief offered, a job for which Al was canditate number one.

    A baby found in a dumpster resurrects Tony's feelings about having
    another baby. When the try to adopt a baby fails, he places an ad
    in the paper to find a woman who wants to help him to a baby via
    in vitro fertilization. Regelski has an eye on a Chinese woman
    working at a cleaner's.

    To make them a better team, the Hudson Street squad is sent to the
    Poconos for an evaluation seminar. This backfires and the weekend
    results in a horror trip, disrupting them. Tony turns forty.

    Investigating a robbery at her art-gallery Tony meets Elizabeth Owens,
    a wealthy woman. Mutual attraction leads to dates but Tony eventually
    finds out that she's deeply involved in the fraud. A privacy-ignoring
    Lucy embarrasses Mickey (and bothers Tony as well) who wants to set
    new rules.

    The station is moving into a new building. Packing together their
    stuff, the officers reminisce about outstanding events of their
    past in connection with this office. They all tell stories about how
    they became officers or, in the case of Tony, about Mickey's birth.
    And there's still a chance that they might not move since an adjacent
    building has caught fire and it also might destroy the new home.
