045 [3.01-87] Aloha (1) / Aloha, oh je ! (1)

    The family spends their holidays on Hawaii, but it's not the fun
    parade everybody - and especially Jason - thought it would be.
    Stranded with a broken boat Jason learns that the decision to go
    to Maui instead of Florida was schemed by Mike, Maggie works all
    night for an article (and neglects him) and Carol was a victim of
    Mike's plan. For Mike, his goals are reached when he meets Melia, a
    native guide. Carol, too, meets a nice guy who's working at the hotel.

    Mike finds out that Melia has a little daughter, resulting in confusion.
    Maggie finished her article and now finally has time for Jason. But it
    doesn't take long until Susan calls with news: Maggie's article series
    is a hit and she should fly home for an interview. Bobby, who worked
    longer so he can afford the flight, surprises Carol and Hadley.

    Mike quits his job at Benny's Carwash to work for his old friend
    Jerry at Stereo Village. Maggie and Jason really doesn't like the
    thought of Mike and Jerry being together again but they have to
    admit that this job changed Mike positively.

    Ben wants a new bike from his parents and asks Mike for help. After

    Returning home from Maggie's birthday party, the Seavers find out
    they had unwelcomed visit from burglars. The fact that strangers
    went through their house, touched or used things they belong to
    them and also the thought that the culprits still could be in their
    house makes the Seavers feel really uneasy. And then, is there a
    chance the burglars will return ?

    all because he claimed he doesn't want to be a Seaver and skipped the
    operation ...

055 [3.11-87] Broadway Bound / Der Broadway lockt

    Still having their first stage play and the success with it in
    mind, Mike and Monica decide to skip the audition for another
    school play and, instead, audition for 'Our Town', this time on
    Broadway. But Monica has doubts (and also Mike feels uneasy)
    whether they are good enough for the big stage and waiting there
    doesn't improve the situation.

    Instead of learning Carol was out with Bobby. The following day
    Coach Lubbock surprisingly pop quizzes the class and Carol fears
    the worst. But when they get back the test it's not the 'F' expected
    but an 'A+'. Why does she get the good marks? Only because the works
    are from her? What are the marks she reached so far worth? Questions
    over questions for Carol.

    To get a chance to talk to a psychologist, Jill helps Mike and Boner
    with a project. Jason meanwhile has a personal crisis of his own when
    he runs into Jill but this soon changes when his problems are nothing
    compared to Jill's. When Jill starts talking about suicide he doesn't
    want to let her go and while talking with her he finds out that her
    mother commited suicide and she totally feels empty and alone.

    hear this and are, of course, against a marriage.

    A day meant for cleaning the house ends with a mother-daughter and
    a father-sons day. At the hairdresser's Carol and Maggie talk about
    secrets and each of them reveals one to the other: Carol's secret -
    a month earlier she told her parents she would stay overnight with a
    friend but instead spent the night in a Manhattan nightclub - really
    bothers Maggie but she can't tell Jason about this because then she
    would break her promise. When she does anyway and Jason confronts his
    daughter with this, Carol gets mad at her mother and Maggie at Jason ...

    they can ...

063 [3.19-88] Dance Fever (1) / Die Klassenfete (1)

    Maggie and Jason chaperon the school dance. Nevertheless the kids
    go there, awaiting an exciting night. It doesn't take a long time
    until they find out it's a boring night - but only at the beginning.
    Mike gets his dream girl, at least until she starts to talk. Eddie
    has one, too, and Carol likes dancing with Boner. That's something
    Mike on one side and Debbie and Shelley on the other really doesn't
    like to see. Then when a lumbago stops 'The Wailin' Wailer', the D.J.,
    Maggie steps in for him. Ben and Stinky also go out seeking an
    adventure - finding a secret place.

    Ben and Stinky made it - to the restaurant with a flipper! The flipper
    is there but how to win money? At the dance, Maggie keeps the show
    running. Shelley, Debbie and Carol have problems (those who want to
    dance with them are 'unacceptable' and for the rest the girls are) as
    well as the boys (especially Mike who's really distracted by Lydia's
    voice).

    The upcoming baby starts changing the life of the Seavers - everyone
    has to step back a little bit: The kids realize that work is heading
    their direction, Jason promises to take on fewer patients and a stressed
    Maggie worries about her job (she still tries to tell her boss she's
    pregnant). To cheer up Maggie, Jason and the kids decide to decorate
    the room for the baby. As the guest room is to far away from Jason and
    Maggie's, someone of the kids has to give up his/hers. And a tricky
    Mike finds a way that this one room is not his ...

    As his contract runs out with the end of the semester, Coach Lubbock
    faces an unknown future. Mike, who has found out that the Coach 'has
    a life outside school', learns that the Coach gets fired. So he decides
    to help him, with the help of Carol. Together they collect signatures
    and, after this attempt has failed, they organize a sit-in at the
    school. And Maggie's the one who has to report live from Dewey High ...

069 [3.25-88] How the West was Won (2) / Lehrer lernen auch (2)

    The outcoming of the sit-in is that Coach Lubbock has to leave Dewey
    High now and not with the end of semester. Also his kids have seen
    the report on TV and know what's going on. To build up the Coach,
    who thinks he failed and, thanks to the strike and its result, is
    mad at Mike, Elisabeth and Maggie arrange a meeting of both families
    which has the desired result: The coach has overcome his crisis and
    announces that he will accept the only job as teacher he found ...
    in a school in Eureka, California.

    Finally he has made it: Mike's graduating! His parents are really
    proud of him and remember his early days, when he was born and
    started going to school. With this graduation Carol has lost a
    12 year old bet which said that Mike won't ever get the diploma.
    [Note: Victor DiMattia and Jarrett Lennon played Dennis and Joey
     in the 1987 TV movie version of 'Dennis the Menace'.]
