076 [4.01-93] Four Naked Women / Vier nackte Frauen

    The men are on their traditional camping trip - this time without
    the women. But that doesn't prevent the women from playing a prank.
    Red faced (and green and black) the boys swear revenge. They return
    home and - by chance - catch the women trying out Fontana's costumes.
    And that is a perfect invitation for the pay back ...

077 [4.02-93] One Down, Three to Go / Guenstige Angebote

    Taylor is out of the house - sort of. He still returns day after
    day for dinner or to deliver his laundry. Ava simply can't let go
    while Wood isn't very happy with his boy always dropping in.
    Merleen has found a new love - the Home Shopping Channel - and
    drives Harlan crazy.

078 [4.03-93] One Hot Game / Eine heisse Nummer

    Losing has become a Mules tradition and no one really thinks of
    winning a game even after a 57-games losing streak. Nab, a self-
    taught football expert brings up an interesting play: the shotgun.
    Right before the game - searching for Herman - Wood drops in at Frieda's
    and accidentally locks himself with Frieda in her sauna. At the game
    Herman's now in charge - and he as nervous as the team's good ...

079 [4.04-93] Witnesss for the Prosecution / Eine harte Pruefung

    Harlan has taken on an extra job as expert witness - and those
    usually appear in court. So it's just a matter of time when
    Harlan, as a witness for the prosecution, faces Ava, the defendant.
    Although advised against it Harlan wants this confrontation,
    and a mean showdown in court is inevitable. Emily starts cooking.

080 [4.05-93] The Kiss of the Ice-Cream Woman / Der Kuss der Eisverkaeuferin

    Herman confesses to the boys that he was cheating on Margaret - he
    kissed the ice-cream woman - and now with her returning from Greece
    gets a feeling of guilt. But only until Margaret confesses (first)
    that she kissed a Greek man. Accidentally, Wood first lets slip out
    Herman's secret to Margaret and later also Harlan's sidestep which
    makes Merleen angry. With even Herman and Harlan having weak moments,
    it's not a far cry until Wood's itegrity is questioned because he sure
    has had enough oppurtunities during his playing days to cheat on Ava.

081 [4.06-93] Night of the Living Newtons / Die Nacht der lebenden Vogelscheuchen

    Emily is afraid of Halloween. Ava and Wood want to show her that
    there are no real monsters, only disguised people she knows. And
    one of the victims is Wood himself who is forced to go as a fairy.
    At home the other three kids come up with a very intense idea for
    the Trick or Treaters'. Wood tries to create a pumpkin head without
    a 'front window' and Taylor auditions for Hamlet in Little Rock.

    Molly is growing up and mature enough to make her own decisions -

    Matt, reluctantly tolerated (as long as kissing is not involved) by
    her parents. Molly asks him out to the school's backwards dance.
    Herman is told by a specialized agency that he has Scottish ancestors.

    on his paper route - and reminisce about the old days as kids -
    while Ava, Frieda, Fontana and the kids do the other things.

    Merleen plays matchmaker for alone-again Herman and fails miserably.

    home she recruits Herman for help - with shocking consequences!

    Fontana confesses that she and Evan - mainly she because of the baby

    Evan. To give them an evening alone together at theirs, Wood and Ava
    leave and accompany Herman to a single bar to help him find someone.

    A new restaurant opens in Evening Shade - and it's a good one, which
    could mean the end of Ponder's 'Bar B. Que Villa'. And even the gang,
    with an embarrassing flavor though, finds it worth to check it out.

088 [4.13-93] The Proof is in the Pudding / Die Pudding-Affaere

    Herman by chance watches the cafeteria woman putting aside food and
    selling it. Thinking this could be a big story he incognito (he's
    afraid of the woman's son) informs Evan. The story hits - especially
    Ava who's been after the culprits for months. All she needs now is
    the informant as a witness. But Evan refuses, referring to his
    journalistic itegrity, to hand out 'Deep Pudding's' identity - and
    Ava has no chance as to put him into jail. And after Wood lets slip
    out that he knows the man too - but also refuses to tell a name -
    joins Evan in the cell.

089 [4.14-94] The People's Choice / Wahlkampf

    With the mayor off to Mexico (out of boredom) elections for the
    vacant job are held. The first one entering the race is Harlan,
    who finds himself challenged by Irna Wallingsford immediately
    after his announcment. But both are more interested in a dirty
    fight than politics.

090 [4.15-94] Educating Calvin / Ein Knacki lernt dazu

    Calvin, Alvin's brother (and the name is not the only similarity between
    these two), pays a surprise visit after a five-year stint in prison.
    He wants something ... he wants to make his High School Diploma. A
    teacher is found quickly (namely Wood) and one of his duties will be
    teaching Calvin that he can only do it the tough way - by learning.

    Merleen's creative side breaks through once again. This time she takes

    Harlan turn to Wood for help. Wood talks to Merleen - and it's no
    longer Harlan alone, its the whole clan who finds themselves a target
    of Merleen's ...

092 [4.17-94] The Perfect Woman / Maennchen oder Weibchen

    When Ponder announces that his relationship with Aurelia is over the
    women's mission is clear: finding someone for poor Ponder. And they
    indeed find a great woman - not knowing that 'she' was formerly a 'he'.
    Taylor gives the kids two hamster which subsequently go free and move
    in in the heating shaft.

093 [4.18-94] It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, Wood / Geld stinkt

    Stonewall Abbott loves fireworks, his neighbor Harlan does not.
    As the mayor it's Wood job to put an end to this. What follows is
    Stonewall's last masterpiece with him himself as the main event.
    Herman as executor of Stonewall's last will tells Wood that he
    inherits one million dollar - under the condition that he fulfills
    all of Stonewall's assignments described in five envelopes. They are
    tough but Wood is no chicken nor chick, is he ?

094 [4.19-94] The Fabulous Frasier Girls / Scharfe Schwestern

    Merleen sisters stop by at Merleen's on their way to an audition
    in Nashville. Back in their childhood the three sisters sung
    together and now they want to try it again. While Lerleen and
    Jolene are good as ever Merleen has lost a lot of her singing
    abilities in the meantime. Herman gets a job as painter - park
    banks that is - only to find out that Nab is doing the job better
    and faster.

095 [4.20-93] I Did, I Did / Spaeter Honeymoon

    It's Wood and Ava's 20th wedding anniversary and since they never
    had a real wedding (they ran away back then) they pick Herman's idea
    to renew their vow with a state-of-the-art wedding. At the usual
    pre-wedding party it's a stripper - not at the boys' party (which fails
    miserably) but at the girls' party - who puts Wood into a bad mood.

096 [4.21-94] Mr. Newton Goes to Hot Springs / Die grosse Sitzung

    The town is broke. And one of the first to fall victim to this is
    the town's garbage truck. Soon the garbage piles up and the situation
    starts getting out of control. It's Wood's duty as mayor to resolve
    this situation. He attends a mayor's congress in Hot Springs to get
    in contact with other mayors and try to find a solution.

097 [4.22-94] Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wood? / Wer hat Angst vor'm boesen Wolf

    It's a bad day for the mayor and the person Wood. First he learns that
    his old teammate 'Jumpbag' Jimmy Logan is the new headcoach of the
    Falcons and making big money - leaving him with doubts since most of
    his comrades have done something out of them while he himself became
    a nobody and is stuck with people asking him for little favors all
    the time. And one of those favors is directing Emily's school play
    of 'The Three Little Pigs'. Bad day - until in the evening he gets a
    call from Jumpbag who's offering him the job as the Quarterback head
    coach with the Falcons. Herman coaches the quiz-team which made it
    into the finals.

098 [4.23-94] Wood Climbs to new Heights / Zimmer ohne Aussicht

    Emily catches the chickenpox forcing Wood (who never had them) to
    move out temporarily. He moves in with Taylor driving him mad. Also
    driven mad - mad for love - is Ava who misses Wood terribly. But
    there's a solution for every problem, isn't it ?

099 [4.24-94] Mama Knows Best / Mama weiss, was Sache ist

    Stephanie, an old friend of Ava's, visits. Ava asked Herman to take
    her out but after a recent blind-date-gone-bad he declines. After
    seeing Stephanie he regrets his decision soon - which Taylor does not
    after he takes on the job and hits it off with Stephanie. Will has
    something he'd like to get rid of - a bully. Wood's advices consist
    basically of hitting while Ava insists on the talking way.

100 [4.25-94] The Odder Couple / Die Katzenfischfarm

    Fontana has problems with Merleen when Merleen spends more time with
    Scout than her and does the things she actually wants to to with Scout.
    Molly has a different kind of problem - well, at first: An admirer
    sprayed an 'I love Molly' on the water tower, visible for the whole
    town. Ava urges Wood to remove this, which sounds easy but that's up
    high and Wood has fear of heights.

101 [4.26-94] I Left my Ring in Evening Shade / Ex-Mann Nummer 3A

    Tony Lombardi shows up in Evening Shade. He was once shortly married
    with Frieda (her 'husband No. 3A') and they hit it off again - at least
    Frieda thinks so who still has feelings for Tony (the only one of all
    her ex-husbands). And he indeed wants to marry again - but not Frieda.
    He is in Evening Shade to get his grandmother's ring back which he
    has given Frieda back then ...
