    Josh has taken on a job to escort three prisoners. On his way to pick
    them up a tornado hits River City and ruins also the sheriff's office.

    in jail.

    Carlos Domingo is behind bars (brought there by Josh) - and the only
    one willing to testify against him, Leon Faber, is shot dead in front
    of his friend's eyes: Josh. Now Domingo is set free again and Josh
    searches for a way to find someone else to testify. And indeed he
    finds someone: the only person close to Domingo ...

    The men of Coronado hire Josh for a tough job: the women wanted their
    men to take off their guns. They, of course, refused - and the women

    Josh delivers Tom Adams at the sheriff's, but apparently it was
    the wrong man and Josh must leave without the money. So Josh goes
    after the now wanted man, Dawson. Soon, Adams - who wants to silence
    Dawson because that one got money to take the blame - joins Josh
    on the search.

    his grandmother's, Josh goes out to seek the boy.

    that he sooner than later will be killed.

    Josh, on his way with the prisoner Tom Fellow, stops for the night
    in Center City. Lafe Martin, whose gang Fellow is a member of, uses
    this to get Fellow free: he takes three residents, among those the
    sheriff and the son of the bank owner, as hostage. Fellow tries to
    play fair, not so the deputy who sees the situation as an opportunity
    to get a promotion.

    La Curandera is kind of a local witch woman who is feared by everyone
    - except Rafael, a soon-to-be father, who now has to fear the community
    as well as Don Flores, his father-in-law. He hires Josh to protect him
    and his family.

    George Goode did something absolutely dumb and inexcusable: he
    abandons the lap-sheep of his wife! Now in trouble he turns to

    him the target of jokes ...

    Because he himself is just a coward, attorney Lawton engages Josh
    to protect his wife Sarah from Clem Robinson. Sarah Lawton testified
    against Robinson in a trial. Now Robinson has managed to escape from
    jail - and his way may lead him straigh to the Lawtons to take revenge.

    Josh has an unpleasant job to do: find his friend Sheriff Jim Kramer
    - who robbed a bank - before other bounty hunters do, who of course
    are eager to get a sheriff. Josh indeed finds Kramer and that one is
    willing to pay for his crime but first wants to go after the woman who
    talked him into robbing the bank and then disappeared with the money.

    Frank Hagen hires Josh to protect his deaf-mute daughter for a
    day while he's away. Later he returns with a gunshot wound. The
    reason for this is a fight with Harry Brice with whom he teamed
    up for a bankrobbery years ago. The money was shared and now Brice
    wants also get hold of Hagen's half ...

    Clayton Armstrong wants to run away with his soon-to-be bride Jane.
    Unfortunately, her father protects his daughters against any man,
    including Clayton (who he doesn't like anyway). So, Clayton wants
    to 'kidnap' his bride: that's where Josh enters the story. Since
    Clayton is afraid of ladders Josh should kidnap Jane - which sounds
    easier than it actually is.

    Charlie Glover robbs money from his employer. But over the weekend
    guilt strikes him and he wants to return the money before the owner
    finds out. But the head of this operation, Sam Vickers, definitely
    wants the money and would follow him. So Charlie hires Josh to escort
    him back to Traceyville. And indeed, when Vickers finds out that
    something went wrong he tries to get hold of the money.

    Bill Timmons promised to marry her, then returned home. Now Yoshika
    Nakamura came to the States to find him. Unsuccessful on her own, she
    turns to Josh for help. He accepts and together they go out seeking
    Mr. Timmons. On their way Josh also learns a lot about the Japanese
    culture.

    Josh newest job is to track down Paul Decker, wanted for murder, also
    on behalf of his wife Barbara. Barbara turned to Josh to at least
    somehow be assured that Paul arrives alive to be able to prove his
    innocence. But on Decker's track are also the brothers Wade and Burt
    Taggart who want to see him hang for murdering their brother.

    During a stop at his friend Barney's to rent horses for two prisoners,
    the two manage to escape. Josh as well as Barney go out to track them
    down. Since Barney leaves for the chase his son Davey - who is ordered
    down. Since Barney leaves for the chase, his son Davey - who is ordered
    to return temporarily.
