MICK'S COMMENTS - The wooden spoon favourites are on the ropes, particularly their coach, Tommy. They need results this year to prove themselves although they are almost certain to miss a spot in the league in 2000. A look at their players reveals a fair bunch of talent, including Leeds, Dynevor, Mescia and the McGuiness brothers. But the fact that this doesn't lead to tries or in particular defence is the big problem for Tommy. They let in 802 points last season (a new record) and will have to really pick up their socks in defence to have any chance this season. Look for Dynevor to play a bigger role this season. He has potential, but needs the support.
