A site dedicated to the sadly maligned Special Agent Jeffrey Spender of THE X-FILES, and his alter ego, Canadian actor Chris Owens.
Chris is a confirmed guest for Memorabilia, April 5-6, 2003, in Birmingham, England. He's also making an appearance at Pages Bar, with Mark Lutz of Angel.
Chris on the big screen! He plays a weapons instructor named Art Wallis in THE RECRUIT.
According to IMDb, Chris has a small part in a Canadian movie called TWIST.
Chris is in a Court TV movie called THE INTERROGATION OF MICHAEL CROWE. It's airing fairly frequently this month.
THE X-FILES Official Magazine 2002 Yearbook includes an interview with Chris! There are lots of photos, though we've seen most of them before.
Chris was nominated for a Genie Award: best performance by an actor in a leading role, for THE UNCLES. Brendan Fletcher won. (I demand a recount!) See a photo of Chris and his wife at the Genie Awards here.
The Krycek/Marita site, Blondie's Ratcave, has a new interview with Frank Spotnitz. He discusses Agent Spender, and why they felt they had to kill him.
There are some great photos of Chris at Northern Stars.
Chris is in an indy X-FILES documentary called LEAVING LOS ANGELES NEWSLETTER. There are a couple of small pics of Chris at X-Files Doc.com, the movie's official site. And there's a nice little story about Chris on their press page.
Chris plays the lead in THE FAMILY MAN, an independent film produced by the Canadian Film Centre.
Agent Spender started out being widely disliked by fans of THE X-FILES. It was only to be expected. He had a hostile relationship with Mulder, and naturally the audience's sympathies lay with the star of the show. Worse, when Chris Owens was hired, the Vancouver press reported that Spender was slated to replace Mulder in the sixth season. After that, the fans couldn't be more primed to dislike the character. ButSpender did not replace Mulder. Rather, he's proved an intriguing and increasingly welcome addition to the cast - particularly since "Two Fathers" and "One Son" aired. |
