Sailing with the Family
We live in Maryland, just off the Chesapeake Bay. We primarily use our Chrysler 26 (named "child's play") for day sailing, as my wife isn't into the whole sailing "thing" yet -- if we heel more than five degrees she gets a little nervous. So, for now, I save the real exciting, heart-pounding sailing for when I have more adventurous souls aboard.
Ready to get Underway! | |||||||||||||||||
"Child's Play" is a 1978 Herreshoff design, with a full keel. She came equipped with a Chrysler 10 HP outboard with electric start and cockpit controls, 2 mains, a 150% roller-furling jib, 100% hank-on jib, a dutch 30% storm sail, and a "cruising spinnaker". The boat was a steal, as the previous owner had not been sailing it, and was paying considerable dry-dock fees. I've put a lot of sweat and blood into it, and most people can't believe that its a 1978.

We've had the boat now for about 3 years. We keep the boat docked at Point Lookout Marina, which is a GREAT family-oriented marina. Their website is located at http://www.mtam.org/members/plm.htm.

Chrysler Manuals
This page includes copies of the 1978 Chrysler 20 Owner's Manual, 1979 Chrysler 22 Owner's Manual, 1977 & 1979 Chrysler 26 Owner's Manuals, as well as detailed drawings, equipment lists, and instructions for raising the mast. I attempted to maintain the original look and feel of these documents as much as possible. Consequently, most of these documents look better printed out than they do on screen.

Chrysler Newsletters & Magazines
The following section contains Chrysler Crew Newsletters, The Quarterdeck Chrysler Magazine, and assorted Chrysler One Design Class Association Newsletters.
NOTE: Beginning with this issue, and for each issue to follow, Chrysler changed its format for the Chrysler Crew's Nest, making the publication more graphically intense. The result is that the files below tend to be a bit larger, and thereby, load more slowly. Please be patient while they load!
In the second page, there is a letter from the
Publisher of this issue which states: "The directory section of the North
American Class Association has three misplacements of sail plans involving
the Pirateer, the Mutineer, and the Buccaneer...the Pirateer section shows a
Buccaneer diagram, the Mutineer section shows a Pirateer diagram, and the
Buccaneer section shows a Mutineer diagram."
Knowing this, I made sure that the descriptions below matched the
diagrams shown. Please let me know if you find any inconsistencies!
