The horses listed have all been granted membership in the Unofficial Thoroughbred Hall of Fame. Eligibility has no formal restrictions, as it is an unofficial honor, but only horses who raced in North America in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries have been included. Horses whose careers epitomize excellence in thoroughbred racing are full members, while those who flashed across the racing stage with one brilliant race may be honored with a "notable mention." As biographies are added, horses names will become clickable links.
