Reg Cornwell

Reg Cornwell is another retiree from the south, a Victorian, and he brought his bird breeding expertise to breeding hibiscus.  After seeing what Allan McMullen, Geoff Harvey and Bert Hardy were doing, he set out to do better.  He certainly did!  With a better gene pool to work with including the newly imported Herm Geller and the like, he certainly produced some spectacular hybrids.  See how many you know.

Reg is still hybridizing and has won the hybridizers' trophy for more years than I can remember.  He hasn't produced any outstanding ones lately but from his pool of past seedlings, he keeps presenting one or two of note.  The bold ones I have growing and there are links to flower images I have loaded.
