Passenger killed at Penrith 8 th August 1867.


ACCIDENT ON THE LINE AT PENRITH - Mr. Hugh Glenton, a yeoman residing at Long Meg in the parish of Addingham, was killed on the line at Penrith station on Thursday. He was crossing over the line from one side of the station to the other, when he was struck by the buffers of a goods train which came up at great speed.
