"Gunter" burgee - origin uncertain.

This is not the "official" Potter Yachters (Northern California WestWight Potter Association) burgee. How about it "old salts", that picture on the burgee is a Gunter which predates me. Also, from what part of the country did it come from?

"Potter Yachter" burgee

For a universal Potter class burgee, I'd suggest [this] one Rob McClain designed for the Potter Yachters. The only thing peculiar to the Potter Yachters is the letters "PY" in the center. Any other abbreviations could be substituted for other regional clubs, such as the ECPA. [This scan shows] the Potter Yachter burgee that was made in the late 70s or early 80s. I think the only difference in the new one is that it is made so that the PY reads correctly from both sides.

Mark Sprague's burgee (above) could be a symbol for the gunter rig potters.
