This trestle is one of the few surviving artifacts along the lines of the SDERY.  It's located along the side of West Point Loma Blvd, about two miles or so from mission beach.  From what I've been told, the trestle was used until recently to hold up a pipeline that was situated between the pilings (Note the cut off pilings where the pipe used to lay).

Standing on the right of way, its hard to imagine that the La Jolla line passed over this very spot.  The whole area has changed a great deal.  Apartments are now situated on either side of the trestle, and the mud flats in the background of the wreck picture have been filled and drained to create a city park complete with baseball fields (Robb Field).
