Some of his quotes
From a prominent Lebanese Family with long history of patriotism & loyalty to Lebanon, the young FOUAD CHEHAB joined the military academy to become an officer. At the time Lebanon was under French mandate rule. He remained so until Lebanon gained its independence from France in 1943, where, by then, General Chehab was given the task by the first Lebanese Government to create the Lebanese Armed Forces, which gained him the nickname ABAL JAISH (Father of the Army).
