This page contains some of the history behind the EMFHL. It has the story of how the EMFHL evolved and the standings for the previous seasons. The asterisk beside a team inidcates that they won the Prime Minister's Cup.

The EMFHL got its first start back when Andre Plante was in highschool in Burlington, Ontario. In the first season, the league was made up of 6 teams, each playing a 24 game season. The member franchises were:

The following season, the league redefined itself, and grew. The league now had 10 teams, and all the teams were recreated before the start of the new season. The member teams were now:

Unfortunately, the leading scorer stats have been erased, but it is known that
the Rippers beat out the Monarchs in an exciting best of 5 final that went the
distance. The following year, the league continued with the same teams. There were a few
changes however. The following three teams changed names:
The season was also shortened to 36 games. The final standings are below. Once again the scoring leaders have gone missing. In this season, the Marauders
swept the Grizzlies 3 games to 0 to take the championship. At this point, the league took a couple of years off. When it came back, it was
being run through the email system on the internet. Upon its return, it was
comprised of 21 teams in 4 divisions playing a 36 game season. The owners were:
It is important to note that this was the first year in which the managers made
their original teams. Below are the final standings and the leading scorers. That year's final had the Knights facing off against the Gamblers. The series
was a best-of-three, and the it again went the distance. The Knights ended up
winning game three and the championship.
