Dearest Freshmen,

A very warm welcome to one and all! Our heartiest congratulations on your successful admission into NUS. Your unceasing efforts and prayers have brought you to the pinnacle of your academic career, Alhamdulillah. It is here in university that you will explore the undiscovered potential within yourselves, open wondrous doors of' opportunities and prepare those first steps into the brave new world.

This special freshmen edition of SALAM is but a humble effort on our part to help case the transition to university life. The articles we present have been designed to give you an insight to the 'happenings' in PBM and MS in particular, and generally a sense of the NUS environment and its people. We sincerely hope that you can benefit from this publications.

It leaves us now only to wish each and every one of you a fulfilling and exciting first-year. Do remember: Your time here is as you want it to be, so make the most of that youthful energy and the next few years will be your best yet, lnsya-Allah.
