Virginia and then went to Sumner County, Tennessee.

EDWARD M. HALE:According to the 1860 Census, Pope County, Arkansas, Edward's Real Estate
was worth $1200.00 and his personal estate was worth $1100.00 (#672-672,
page 803). Edward wasthe postmaster of Broland from 1849 to 1857. Edward was also
the Sherriff of Searcy County, Arkansas from 1836 to 1838.
Apparently, Edward and Susan had at least 4 more children than those
appearing in the 1860 census, but the names of those children are unknown
at this time. Evelyn does believe however, that William C. Hale is the
oldest son of Edward so he has been added to the family tree. According
to Carri Vance's cousin Gene, Edward's mother was a full blooded
Cherokee Indian, but we have no documentation on this yet.
