He is about 47 or 48 years of age, married, and is quite an old resident of this place. Prior to five years ago was in the real estate business. He was appointed clerk of the federal court of this District which position he held until about one month ago, when he resigned in order to give his attention to his personal affairs. He has made considerable money during the last six to ten years; was instrumental in bringing about the change in ownership in the Arizona National Bank here and he is one of the largest stockholders in that institution, and first vice president. He is also interested in the company which build (built) the Congress Hotel here and which is now building a large business block and theatre. For a number of years the principal owner in the New Method Laundry of this place. He owns considerable real estate in the downtown district, is regarded as one of the progressive residents of the city, a man of standing and influence, and while a personal statement is not available, authorities say that he is conservatively worth $100,000 net. and his obligations are thought not excessive. Is a man of high character and standing, and maintains the reputation of meeting his obligations promptly.
