above were children of Napoleon B Brashears. His father was Mortimer M
Brashears who was the son of Joseph Brashears, whose father was Zadoc.

Other grandchildren were DAmon Freeze, Raymond Freeze, and Amanda. Their mother

age 57 Came to Choctaw Nation in 1858. Lived in EAstern Nation with father,
Mortimer who died 1863. Mortimer was killed while enlisted in US Army.
Grandfather was Joseph Brashears, His father Zadock Brashears, A John and
George Brashears were his relatives. Also An uncle William. an Uncle Joseph
Vaughn. Turner Brashears also visited his father. A Richard Brashears (black)
testified that Joseph went to Fayetville and died there. He had a son Zadock.
William and Turner Brashears, brothers of Joseph did not come to Indian Terr.
They lived in Sumpter Co Alabama. Zadock was French. He married Vaughn she was
Choctaw. Joseph went away to school from Sumpter Co Ala. Wm and Turner were
younger than Joseph, sons of Zadock. The children of "old Zadock" were Jesse,
Zadoc, Vaughn and Turner. The children of Young Zadoc were Joseph, Wm and
Turner Pg 318. Old Zadoc married a Vaughn, they were might near full blood.
They were all French. Old Zadoc had 4 brothers. They did not have
Choctaw Blood.
PG 319 Testimony of Josephine Jones. Old Zadoc was a scotsman, his wife Susan
was a 1/2 breed Choctaw. Jesse and Zadoc were brothers to Josephines; mother.
Jesse died in Miss. Susan lived in Jackson Miss. Eliz died in Ala. Susan died
in Jackson. Turner had no children. Uncle Zadoc died in Ala. abt 1852. Zadoc
was married at the time of his death his wife was Anne. His children were
Turner, John & Wm who were twins. Turner died young. John died as a boy and
william died. pg 320.

He was "admitted on trial" as a Minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church
in Arkansas in 1875, transferred to a Methodist Conference outside Arkansas
(unspecified) in 1891 (Methodism in Arkansas, 1916-1976). He was an active
minister in the Oklahoma Conference all during the time he was (falsely) trying
to get himself and his children enrolled as Choctaws by blood so that he could
get land and annuities payments. According to his applications for himself and
his children in 1896 for enrollment as a Choctaw, the FHL ancestral file, and
testimony before the Dawes Commission in 1906 (p 315, 316). Parents: Mortimer M BRASHER and Sarah L VAUGHN.
