WHERE I LIVE

I was raised primarily in Southern Illinois but was fortunate to have visited and lived in many different places. I now call Indiana, Pennsylvania HOME. Indiana is a fairly rural area east of Pittsburgh. Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the largest state-supported shcool in PA, offers many cultural attractions found in larger areas. The town of Indiana is most noted as being the hometown of James (Jimmy) Stewart. The community recreates the fictional town of Bedford Falls every Christmas season and calls itself the "Christmas Tree Capital" because of the many tree farms nearby. A drive passed the tree farms also takes you passed several covered bridges that remain in the county and a thriving Amish Community. There are many natural areas being preserved within the county. One of these areas is Buttermilk Falls which was owned by the family of Fred Rogers. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is filmed in nearby Pittsburgh. The Buttermilk Falls area and other natural sites are becoming accessable through a growing ribbon of hiking/biking trails.

CURRENT PROJECTS
My biggest accomplishment has been to serve on the Board of Director for the Chevy Chase Community Center. The center has created the Unemployment Help Center for the unemployed in Indiana County and together with the Chevy Chase Center can offer clients a food bank, clothing bank, prescription program, eyeglass program, computer training, and resume writing assistance. The center also hosts many banquets, lectures, and civic functions aimed at uniting the residents of Indiana County. Our largest fundraiser is the FAMILY FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION held at the county fairgrounds. It is the largest fireworks display in the area.
I hope you can visit Indiana during the FAMILY FOURTH CELEBRATION
You can help the Chevy Chase Community Center by using the sites listed at the bottom of this page. The sites are free to use, but the center receives a commission every time you visit them through this link.

FUTURE DREAMS
I hope to live in a city someday. My favorite city is Dallas, Texas. Cities have museums, parades, concerts, and almost always has an amusement park nearby. Pittsburgh is an interesting city that is fun to visit. The view of the Skyline from Mt. Washington is awesome. I would like to visit Denver and Honolulu because of the scenic areas that can be found so close to the city. I enjoy collecting postcards and maps of these cities because I like City Planning and Architecture.
