Rules for Calcu-Risk

Getting started:

For a short game each team or player selects 15 units from his self-made pool of units or any units from the original game known as RISK®. The game master should then deal out the fourteen planet cards to each player or team. The pieces should then be strategically positioned by their respective player or team, and the game can thus begin.

The Game Master:

The game master is a neutral person who administers the calculus questions and carries out all other actions that require the absence of bias. The game master is always the final authority on any discrepancy with the rules. Many game masters even make up extra rules to "spice up" game play. Arguing with the game master is a sure ticket to be penalized in the future.

Attacking and Defending:

To attack a planet two conditions must be met: A. The attacking planet must contain more one unit because simple logic states that an undefended planet would be very stupid. This rule is built in to protect you from yourself. B. The planet to be attacked must be adjacent to the attacking planet. Adjacency is determined by the game master. If the game master is being unreasonable he can be rebuked if all parties in the game consent to overthrow his rule. Once the above conditions are met, the attack is carried out by trying to solve calculus problems the fastest. A maximum of three units can attack a planet at any given time. Thus three problems are given to the attacking player. Depending on how many people are defending the planet, the defending player can get up to three problems (the same problems) to defend himself. If less than three units are present on either side, the play with the lesser units only has access to that number of the questions. The problems are solved in either order and a submission of answers is made in any order that suits the player. For every correct answer from one side, the other side loses one unit.

Winning the Game:

Winning the game is usually determined by the game master or time restraints, but the general rule is that the first player or team that controls ten territories for a turn or more wins. Have fun playing the game!!!
