MPG Project (ALPHA 2.05)

Warning: This application is a prototype realized by Laurent Pieraut and Francis Pieraut.
This application compress video 16bits/pixel RGB to 8bits/pixel (GRAY).
First, you should have a video grabber or a camera plugged on your system and the appropriate drivers installed.
We have tested our program with:

•  Avermedia video grabber (NTSC-M).
• QuickCamExpress

Installation instructions:

Place mpg2.exe and header_gray_8bits.bmp MPGVideoCompressor.zip (right click - save as)
in the same directory.

• execute mpg2.exe and you will see something like this:

• Select you capture source.
• Then you should see something like this:

• Select RGB 555(16bits)
• Then you should see something like this:

• You can change parameters of MPG compression algorithm with MPG Control:

• You should see this:

• If you set DCT scale (increase conpression) at 160:

• When there is fast motion, you should see something like this:

• You can change capture format with video format :
