My latest trip was to the big fish dam of Kalavasos. Now this dam holds some very big fish but it also a venue where you can blank. First line of attack C.A.C. Supermix grounbait followed by about half a gallon of maize that has been boiled then soaked in water for about a week 'till its very smelly. Sweetcorn on a size 12 Drennan super specialist tied to 5lb Maxima line fish with a waggler and on a Shimano triple X match rod proves much to light an outfit for today and the end result is a Bass,4 Carp landed and 6 fish lost . A lesson learned, dont fish too light at Kalavasos. | Alex's Diary | ||||||||||||||||

Sorry about the quality it was taken on a digital camera but you can make out all the fish. I'll post another picture when i get them developed. This was taken just before we moved about 2000 small Carp to stock two other dams. It made no impression on the stocks in this dam as we estimate there were about 10000 fish in the little estuary you can see here. This is only a tiny portion of the main dam. | |||||||||||||||||
