Oak Hills High School is my school...it's located on Ebenezer Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our mascot is the Highlander, or Scot, whichever you prefer. We just passed two levies recently to fund a new middle school and renovations on the existing buildings within the district. The construction has already begun on the new middle school and the high school. At the high school, earthmovers are currently moving dirt from the south end of the school onto the area which used to be, and will be again, the baseball field. The new baseball field is expected to be completed by June 1st. Which disappoints me, considering I will not be able to play any home games during the spring this year. Getting back to construction, renovations to Delhi and Bridgetown Junior Highs is expected to begin in January of 2000 and be completed in July of that year. As for additions, they will begin in January 1999 and be finished the following December. Besides the junior highs and high school, renovations and remodeling will be done at the district's 5 elementary schools, including C. O. Harrison, my former school. C. O. Harrison also has the largest enrollment of any elementary school in the state of Ohio! That is over 1300 students! Well, as you can see, there are many exciting things to come in the upcoming years.

I am a huge fan of the Cincinnati Bearcats...they are currently involved in basketball season. The last poll had the Bearcats ranked 20th in the nation. They had been as high as 18, but suffered a loss to Marquette. Right now, they are high above the standings of Conference USA. Bob Huggins hopes to make an NCAA run this season, despite the loss of great players such as Danny Fortson, Damon Flint, and Darnell Burton. Leading the 'Cats this season is the spectacular Ruben Patterson. Patterson suffered an early season suspension that lasted 14 games for abusing privelages. With the absence of Patterson, players such as Bobby Brannen and D'Juan Baker stepped forth. Other key players include Kenyon Martin, Melvin "The Helicopter" Levett, and Michael Horton. Notable guards off the bench are Shawn Myrick and former football player Brent Petrus. Backing up Martin and Brannen down low is sophomore Ryan Fletcher. This is Fletch's third year as a Bearcat, however, he red-shirted last season. Let's hope to see this fantastic club making lots of noise come March...and I'm sure they will!

And how could I forget the Electrafying Carmen Electra? Ah, she is a walking goddess! Carmen is definately one of my all-time favorite supermodels. And the fact that she's also from Cincinnati makes me like her even more!
