**WCW Monday Nitro Results for May 3, 1999
Live From Charlotte, North Carolina**

**At the top of the broadcast, Ric Flair announced he is out of the mental institute
because Arn Anderson freed him. Flair also announced that he was going to be live in
Charlotte, NC tonight for Nitro. A video package aired of on Nitro.
Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan talked about the match at Slamboree involving Ric
Flair and Roddy Piper for control of WCW. Then, they showed a video package of
Gorgeous George training for her match against Charles Robinson.
Ricky Rackman introduced NASCAR driver Jerry Nadeau, who drives the WCW car and
will be driving the new Goldberg car in the next couple weeks.

**Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Scott and Steve Armstrong
Tag Team Champion Title Match

Scott and Steve Armstrong, who were fresh off their victory over Raven last week, took
on Kidman and Little Rey. The champs had total control of the match, utilizing their speed
and endurance. In the final moments of the match, Kidman launched Rey from the top
rope for a hurricanrana on Steve Armstrong for the pin. Directly after that, Chris Benoit
and Dean Malenko ran in and tried to destroy the tag champs. Raven and Saturn followed
the Horseman to the ring, where their help was not appreciated by Rey and Kidman. A
brawl between the three teams continued. All three teams will compete at this Sunday's
Slamboree.

**Buff Bagwell defeated Ernest Miller w/ Sonny Onoo
The Cat opened on the microphone, reminding everyone he is the greatest. Miller gave
Bagwell five seconds to leave the ring otherwise he would be forced to beat him
senselessly. Bagwell answered Miller with a huge clothesline and some classic Bagwell
posing routines. Sonny Ono's attempted kick on Buff backfired when he hit his own man.
Buff capitalized and won with the Blockbuster.

**Ric Flair arrives

Ric Flair, accompanied by his mental patient friends, made his way inside the arena. Inside
the squared-circle, Mene Gene introduced the president of the company. Flair wasted no
time and called out the Randy Savage. Still all worked up, President Flair announced that
he would face DDP for the title on Nitro tonight. Just before the commercial break, Randy
Savage, along with the triad of Gorgeous George, Miss Madness and Madusa, were
making their way to the ring.
After the break, Savage stood face-to-face with Flair, as El Presidente proclaimed that
Savage was fired and he that he was to be removed from the building. Charlotte police
officers escorted Savage, Medusa and Miss Madness from the ring, while Gorgeous
George was kept at ringside. George and Charles Robinson started fighting, with George
in control until Ric Flair's burly nurse, Triple-D, stepped in and took care of the
Georgeous one.
Not slowing down, Flair then called down Sting and Goldberg in what was clearly a
Flair-enticed showdown. Goldberg showed his gratitude for the invitation by slugging
Flair in the head. But when Flair ducked out of the ring, Sting and Goldberg erupted into a
giant brawl, just as Flair had hoped. Security was barely able to pull apart these two
giants. The feud will carry them right into St. Louis on Sunday night for Slamboree.
Ric Flair was spotted in the back offering Stevie Ray $100,000 to he could "take out"
Kevin Nash on Nitro tonight. Stevie excepted the deal.

**Hak and Bam Bam Bigelow drew

In a Hardcore match, Hak fought Bam Bam Bigelow. During the match, Bigelow put Hak
through three tables and nailed him with several trash cans. After several minutes of a
brutal fight, Brian Knobs came out to ringside and started to pummel Bam Bam. Then
Knobs turned his attention to Hak. Knobs left ringside with both wrestlers out of
commission. The referee ruled the match a no contest.
Stevie Ray was in the back talking to the rest of the NWO black and white. He stated that
Flair offered him $50,000 to destroy Nash on Nitro.
Also in the back, a mental patient was seen telling Kevin Nash about the conspiracy to
take him out later that night by the NWO black and white.

**Konnan defeated Horace Hogan
Konnan had the match won with the tequila sunrise, but the rest of the NWO black and
white stormed the ring once again and caused a DQ. Just when it looked really bad for
Konnan, Big Sexy ran to the ring and single-handedly destroyed the black and white.
Konnan and Nash left with a mutual understanding of each other.
Ric Flair was in the back and offered his apology to his son David. Flair said that he
deserved what he got and needed the rest. He offered his son a match on Nitro. David
accepted the match and his father's apology. Little did David Flair know that his first
professional match was a set-up by dear old dad against the Tongan destroyer, Meng.

**Meng defeated David Flair w/ Torrie Wilson
From start to finish, David Flair had no chance against the veteran. Meng demolished the
young Flair and won with his patented death grip. Ric Flair came down to ringside with a
look of concern, but shortly after, the elder Flair turned and stomped on his already beaten
son.
After the commercial break, another video package of Gorgeous George's workout aired.

**Diamond Dallas Page Interview
DDP explained to Mean Gene that he understands why Flair wants to be like him: He's
comparable to Wayne Gretzky, John Elway and Michael Jordan. Further, the difference
between himself and Flair was that he was in his prime.
**DDP defeated Ric Flair
World Title Match
In the main event, Ric Flair took on world champion Diamond Dallas Page. This match
wasn't a classic technical bout. They fought just about everywhere but the ring. The match
culminated with the entrance of Georgeous George and the Macho Man. As George
distracted referee Charles Robinson, Savage threw in brass knuckles. DDP hit Flair over
the head with them and won with the pinfall!

(Promo spot for the DDP v. Nash match at Slamboree: 515K QuickTime movie)

*Thunder looked at the mental breakdown of Ric Flair.

*Raven and Perry Saturn defeated Scotty Riggs and Mike Enos*
Mirror, mirror on the wall, did you see Riggs take a fall? Despite Saturn's shoulder injury (courtesy of the Horsemen), the Freaks of the Week still displayed excellent tag work and double team maneuvers. Enos and Riggs did manage to isolate and work over Raven, but an errant chair shot turned the momentum once again. The former Flock leader got two near-falls, but it was Saturn that scored the win with his DVD finisher -- Riggs was distracted by his hand mirror.

*Thunder took a look at the Hot Rod, Roddy Piper.

*Nitro Flashback: Diamond Dallas Page fights Sting for the World Title.

*Rick Steiner defeated Eric Watts*

From suplexes to steel rail shots, the Dog-Faced Gremlin seemed to enjoy the carnage -- while his opponent begged for mercy. Warming up for his TV Title match, Steiner pummeled Watts with his trademark Steinerdog, and then forced the submission.

*Nitro Flashback: With the help of Randy Savage, DDP defeats Nash in a four-corner Title Match.

*Nitro Flashback: Ric Flair pits Sting and Goldberg against each other.

*Thunder took a look at the upcoming match between Gorgeous George and "Little Natch" Charles Robinson.

*Horace and Brian Adams with nWo black-and-white defeated Disorderly Conduct*
Although Team nWo proved superior in this match, Mean Mike and Tuff Tom displayed several inspired bouts of offense and even managed to disorient Adams. But with the help of Scott Norton, Stevie Ray and Vince, Adams and Horace never seemed in real danger. The black-and-white won after a piledriver spike.

*Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Kanyon*
Pre-match, Kanyon spoke about his experience with the Jesse Ventura movie. Mysterio started strong, but Kanyon's innovative offense and size advantage helped him regain control. The Cruiserweight Champ absorbed over a dozen high-impact moves but several missed top-rope maneuvers cost the heavyweight momentum. Near the end of the match, the Horsemen arrived, but Rey disposed of his Slamboree opponents and still connected with his Mysterio-rana roll-up for the pin. Post-match, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko tried to crush Mysterio's knee with the ring steps. Rey was helped to the dressing room. No word on his knee was available at press time.

*Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko defeated The Texas Hangmen*
The Horsemen walked out arrogantly, basking in the glory of their Mysterio attack. The Hangmen attempted to take advantage of the distraction but couldn't rattle the former tag team champions. Injuring and insulting their opponents, Malenko and Benoit focused on the knees of the Hangmen. The Icemen scored the win with the Texas Cloverleaf.

*Nitro Flashback: Ric Flair confronts Randy Savage, Madusa, Miss Madness and Gorgeous George; Page cheats to beat Flair in the main event match.
