The daily grind of society weighs heavy upon our minds. The price we pay for the constant nine to five monotony oppresses the individual in all of us, relentlessly holding us back from pursuing our dreams. In effect, we are all repressed, living a life which is both dull and empty. The dreams we cherish and hold dear to our hearts, stay merely as dreams, but we forever live in hope for the day we may attain them. As this planet becomes increasingly smaller, the freedom we need to fulfil our dreams becomes even harder to find. The excitement we crave to feel alive is nowhere to be found, in its place only schedules and conformity. For a fortunate few, snowboarding provides the escape. The way out from the routine and daily drudgery. To the unacquainted it's simply a sport or Winter activity.To a boarder though, it is his whole way of life. It is the goal to which each and every one of us strives - freedom. To be free is to live life as it ahould be lived, without the worries, pressures and expectations that a society can bring upon us. Snowboarding is the closest we can get to being free, filling the void in our unchallenged and sterile existence. The mountain with all its grace and imposing beauty, holds the key to our freedom. It is our only escape from sameness as we effortlessly cut fresh tracks on light powder snow beneath the crisp alpine sun. The freedom of movement flows naturally from the soul, and not the mind. It is here, in this wilderness, that the spirit is nourished...........and all of those dreams can finally become reality. |

O.K, I don't intend writing a massive speech about myself, the things I enjoy, the music I listen to, or how many times my dog happened to poop on the lawn. I've been boarding for five years and spent my time in the French and Austrian Alps. Winter seasons you'll usually catch me working a ski resort, for the simple reason - I get to snowboard !!
