Project Leader - MWD Tool Communications
Placed in charge of bringing MWD Tool Communications to a Microsoft Windows NT platform. See project from the design stage through development to implementation. In charge of project design, acquiring resources, developing a test plan for alpha and beta phases, developing documentation, and a training plan for this project. This project's completion is required for Y2K compliance. Experience working with strict deadlines.
Key member of the High Speed Telemetry Team. Challenged with increasing data throughput from downhole. The team was able to increase data rate by 485% in some cases while improving reliability. In charge of testing new software, coordinating updates to the field, and process feedback during development process. Developed a training course and helped write the manual. Trained key focal points around the world for each region. Developed many of the marketing materials used to sell the new technology.
Nominated for the 1999 Engineering Excellence Award for achievements with the High Speed Telemetry Project.

Duties included testing field-based software before its commercial release. Participated in new software design. Extensive communication with design engineers and field personnel in order to define problems and create enhancements. Developed Software Requirements, Functional Needs, Release Notes, and User Manuals for many different programs.

Senior MWD Field Engineer
Lead rigsite MWD Formation Evaluation services. Mastered operations of a wide range of different tools and services. Have developed extensive log interpretation and computer skills. Used strong communication skills to pass on information to rig personnel, company representatives, geologists, and engineers. Comfortable troubleshooting problems in high-pressure situations and handling them in a professional and effective manner. This is a supervisory position that entails the training and development of other engineers.
Worked with Software Engineering to design MWD tool communication software. Able to bring the field engineers perspective to the design stage of development. The effectiveness of this task ended in a position in the Software Engineering group.
Asked to edit and create various manuals on tool and software operation.
Developed a battery tracking procedure for the Gulf Coast Region.
Lead the first 6 3/4-inch MPR job in the Gulf of Mexico.
Obtained Senior Engineer status in March 1998.

Performed Pressure Transient Analysis and found damage in an existing wellbore. Used Material Balance and Nodal Analysis to determine the increase in production that was possible if damage were removed. Developed stimulation procedure to remove damage. Performed Cost Analysis of situation. Supervised the procedure. Studied the outcome, and determined the job to be 95% successful. Presented the entire process to the engineering staff.
