Shannon Dunn
Shannon enters the 1998 season as one of
the dominant halfpipe competitors in the world. Her results in the 1997
season were among the world's best. She continues to be a key athlete in
the progression of women's snowboarding. Shannon's enthusiasm on and off
the snow keep her very busy with a consistent competitive, promotional,
and photo/film schedule.

Victoria Jealouse
date of birth Scorpio homebase Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada A day well lived. This is the mantra that Victoria is weaving into her life and her snowboarding. Hailing from Kamloops, Canada, she grew up flying down the snow-covered mountains on skis. In her late teens, she picked up snowboarding and quickly created her trademark style: a combination of speed, finesse and power. Now living in Lake Tahoe during the winter, Victoria does much of her riding away from the resorts of the world. Often rising at 4 a.m. to begin trekking into the backcountry in search of fresh snow and proper lighting for photographers and film crews, she remains the most visible female snowboarder in today's feature films. Last season, she rode on location in Alaska for the IMAX movie "Extreme." Victoria is very pleased to be presenting the Feelgood board series in the 2000 board line with good friend and teammate Shannon Dunn.  |

Jim Rippey
date of birth November 5, 1970 homebase Truckee, California Jim had a huge '99 season. He charged through North America, New Zealand, Japan and Europe in search of the biggest jumps, steepest slopes and best parties. Taking his father to three of the larger events in Europe (Air & Style) and Japan (Sapporo Big Air & Nippon Open) made last winter special for Jim. An adventurous guy, he often pushes limits—not only on his snowboard, but on motocross bikes, snowmobiles, base jumps and skydiving outings as well. Rippey lays down his latest in Standard Films' "TB8," now out on video. Jim's riding is legendary and his new signature board allows him to go for more in 2000.  |
Ross Powers
date of birth February 10, 1979 homebase Londonderry, Vermont Driving home from the US Open at Stratton last March, Ross passed the resort where he began riding 11 years earlier (Bromley). Having just thrown down insane technical lines at the US Open Halfpipe Finals, buoyed by 12-foot airs to the roar of 6,000 fans, he realized he has traveled quite a ways from the green mountains of Vermont. His first day riding at Bromley was wet and rainy, with people inside the lodge watching him tumble down the hill. Now, spectators gather round the mountain to watch him push halfpipe riding into the next millennium. Ross has captured more pipe titles and podiums in the last few years than one can imagine. In his spare time, Ross enjoys moto-crossing in New England and spending time with friends and family.  |
Terje Haakonsen
date of birth October 11, 1974 homebase Oslo, Norway The most recognizable name in snowboarding over the past ten years has been Terje Haakonsen. This Norwegian entered the aggressive skate, snow and surf culture as bright-eyed 15 year old. He has achieved legendary status at the age of 25. His style, image, talent and mystique are unmatched. Pros and rookies alike aspire to ride halfpipe like Terje from the moment they drop into that first hit. In the past few seasons, he has eased up on his competition and travel schedule. He spends most of his time riding in California, Scandinavia and central Europe, while working closely with Burton Product Managers on the Balance board series. He also tests all Universe outerwear and helps with the development of Burton's boot and binding technology. Terje has finished his second feature film with Cinemaseoane. Shaun White
date of birth September 3, 1986 homebase San Diego, California Shaun is a young rider with big talent. He began riding the mountains of California with his family at the ripe old age of six. Today, at age twelve, he has progressed into one of the most exciting young freestyle snowboarders in the world. With his whole family out riding with him, it has been easy for Shaun to enjoy the experience of being on the mountain. Taking a skateboard-influenced style to the halfpipes and terrain parks of the world, he is pushing the limit of what "groms" can do when they get on a snowboard. In 1999, Shaun traveled to Japan to take part in the Nippon Open and to participate in photo shoots for Burton and Backhill. He has been a major factor in board development (Choppers & Punches), and many other divisions of hardgoods. Shaun puts Backhill outerwear to the test with his aggressive riding and travel schedule. Look for him in the new Standard Films movie "TB8."  |
